Outside Education

Outside Education is a tuition company with a difference. Our focus is on the community. We provide learning, resources and support for families with children outside the UK school system, whether home educated by choice or because schools are unable to meet their needs. We support adults wanting to return to or progress at work through our partnership with CF Project Support. We believe in sustainability and inclusion and being kind. Founder and Science Teacher extraordinaire Stuart Fieldhouse has 15 years' experience in special needs education including 12 years at the award winning New Bridge Academy Group in Oldham. Co-founder Cathy Fieldhouse has 25 years experience in IT training and project management. The company launched in February 2020 with exciting, interactive science sessions that took place in the Incredible Edible Heaton Park community garden. The covid-19 outbreak and lockdown stopped our lessons but it didn't get in the way of our passion to support the community and we have been spending the time preparing to open a new community hub and learning centre. This is located on Windsor Road, near to the Heaton Park Lakeside entrance and the Bowker Vale tram stop, and is due to open in September 2020. The hub will allow us to offer many more courses plus mental health support and counselling. It will also provide a safe space for groups to meet and will allow us to build up a resource library for our members to use.
