We know what a vital lifeline these specially selected and trained dogs can be so we are happy that we can contribute in any way we can.

The Outside Clinic recently welcomed a visit from Signia, who provides a comprehensive range of digital hearing instruments and software, patient management systems and audiology equipment to the NHS, independent retail dispensers and national chains in the UK.
“The purpose of the visit was to build strong links between ourselves and the most widely used hearing aid manufacturer supplying the NHS, whilst not losing sight of the opportunities that this well-respected brand could offer in the private hearing aid market,” said the Head of Community Hearing Service Contracts, Steve Witts.

An update on another one of our hearing dogs that we sponsor from Hearing Dogs UK.
Jade has a brilliant character- she’s cheeky and affectionate and these are wonderful traits that we want in our puppies. However, sometimes she can get a bit over-excited when learning new skills. Jade has a new trainer; Louise, who has worked at Hearing Dogs for 11 years. Jade likes to play the ‘Find it’ game where Louise hides treat around the garden, and Jade has fun snuffling among the noo...ks and crannies. This also makes Jade more likely to come back to Louise, rather than getting distracted.
Its great to see that Jade and Nutmeg are doing so well. #hearingdogs

We currently sponsor two Hearing Dog Puppies with Hearing Dogs UK and we have received a lovely update on one of our puppies, Nutmeg.
Nutmeg is progressing very nicely through his Puppy Star Awards and is looking to pass his Four-star award. To do this, he will just keep going as he is now, learning more sounds. One important sound is the fire alarm: for this he will lie down, which will tell a deaf person “I can hear an alarm but I’m not going to lead you into danger.”
Nut...meg is currently learning to alert his trainer to a sound, such as the doorbell, by giving her a nudge on the leg with his nose.
Nutmeg has turned into a real character, while keeping that gentle, affectionate side that we saw in him as a very small puppy. If he keeps going at just the right pace through his training, he’ll soon be helping a deaf person every day.

We had a visit from a lovely lady and her very own personal hearing dog last week to pick up a generous donation of just over £500 to Hearing Dogs for Deaf People.
