Outwith Festival Description
Outwith Festival is a celebration of home grown and out of this world music, comedy, theatre, art and literature and it's coming soon to Dunfermline.
The Outwith Festtival is founded and organised by Dunfermline Delivers in collaboration with Fire Station Creative and Avocado Sweet who, inspired by the creative energy that’s happening right now in Dunfermline, have set out to curate a festival that is high quality, accessible and - above all - entertaining.
Among the names taking part are internationally renowned artist David Mach, author and filmmaker Richard Jobson, playwright Alan Bissett and novelist Isla Dewar. In keeping with Dunfermline’s tradition of live music, upwards of 35 live bands will perform at venues across the town. The program will also feature an array of theatre, comedy and literature experiences.
Although the line up is already pretty impressive, further names and details are being added to the programme over the summer so check back here for more information as the festival approaches.

Huge thanks to TheCourier.co.uk for this article on us recently teaming up with Coalfields Regeneration Trust - Scotland to take the iAM youth project on tour!
iAM comprised of around 70 young people who recorded an album in the months leading upto last years festival, culminating in a sold-out showcase performance at Carnegie Hall.
Some of these young musicians that have continued to write, record and gig will be showcased alongside a mix of established artists to create ...three top quality shows.
These shows will take place in villages around West Fife.

After the sell-out success of this years Outwith All-Dayer, we’re bringing it back on Saturday 5 September 2020.
... This event is back as part of the six-day arts festival, taking place from 1 - 6 September 2020, and includes an additional wide-ranging programme of comedy, film, theatre, literature and family events.
2019’s massive line up included Scottish heavyweights Idlewild, Honeyblood, William McCarthy from New York’s Augustines & The Charlatans legendary frontman, Tim Burgess among a host of the best emerging artist from Scotland and beyond.
2020’s line-up promises to be even bigger, bringing some of the most exciting acts from around the world into the heart of Dunfermline’s historic town centre.

It's now just over a week since Outwith Festival 2019 came to a close and we want to say a huge thank you again to all of the event organisers, staff, acts, artists, performers, venues, volunteers, partners, funders, the production people, photographers, videographers and everyone who came and joined in the fun over the 6 days!
It takes a massive amount of work pulling together a festival like this and it takes all of these people's hard work and support to make it happen.
...Music, Art, Comedy, Theatre, Literature, Film, Tours, Gaelic events and everything in between, all happening in Scotlands ancient capital.
It's safe to say this year was the best yet and the support from everyone has been unbelievable!
So, here is a little video of some of the highlights captured over the course of the festival as our way of saying thank-you.
