About Oxfordshire Community Foundation

Oxfordshire Community Foundation is an independent charity that connects people who care with causes that matter. One of 48 UK community foundations.

Oxfordshire Community Foundation Description

Oxfordshire Community Foundation is an independent charity that connects people who care with causes that matter.

We are one of 46 community foundations in the UK, and over 1, 800 similar foundations around the world. Community foundations collaborate with private philanthropists, family trusts, businesses and the public sector to provide a permanent, flexible and growing source of local charitable funding.

OCF has built an endowment fund of nearly £5 million, and awarded more than £5 million in grants to local community groups working to make Oxfordshire a better place. We aim to increase our endowment fund to at least £10 million by 2020.

We believe in lasting, strategic and proactive solutions to complex social problems. To achieve these, we are committed to developing our knowledge and understanding of Oxfordshire’s needs and all available resources.

We work in partnership with others so that we can have a greater impact.

We were delighted to support #TheBigLunch in Banbury recently as part of Eden Project Communities Big Lunches across all of the UK.
Great to see so many happy faces attending, showing how communities come together and the impact it can make. Community friendship is a value we believe strongly in. #AgeFriendlyBanbury

While the county of #Oxfordshire has many positive attributes, it also features great inequality. For every show of affluence for which places like Oxford, Henley and Chipping Norton are known, there are clusters of individuals and families living in poverty.
Our report 'Oxfordshire Uncovered' explores the hidden social problems in the county and the effect they have on the social fabric and cohesion of our community. Read the full report below: #ThursdayThoughts

Getting Court – Drugs and knife crime talk Tuesday 4th June
Drug trafficking offences in #Oxfordshire have increased by 51% in the past 2 years and this increase is attributable to the phenomenon of “County Lines”. This involves urban gangs moving class A drugs and cash between inner city hubs and provincial areas, recruiting young people to sell drugs in rural areas.
The increase in drugs crime is also importing more knife crime. Two Oxford judges will give an insight into these two major areas of concern. Find out more in link below 👇
