Service is very friendly and fast, and the menu has many classic pub food options (including four vegetarian choices, plus a vegan special when we went). Portions for some meals are massive (especially the ribs!). Choice of 7-8 real ales at the bar.

Takes large bookings for dinner (over ten people) which is hard to find in the Lake District.

I ordered the chicken breast in peppercorn sauce with haggis & black pudding. The chicken was literally the toughest I've ever had in my life, I could barely cut it and didn't manage more than a couple of mouthfuls. The haggis, black pudding & salad were all fine/average.

nice pub. pleasant staff.had beef short rib. nice. let down by oven chips and microwave carrots and peas which tasted rubbery.

Excellent food... Pork ribs first rate and Cumberland sausage also... Great service and ambiance.

Best pub in Keswick! Great selection of ales & proper 'home cooked' food. Dog friendly (& just generally very friendly if it comes to that....) Highly recommended.

3.5 stars is probably more accurate. Food was ok, although chips were exceptional. Nothing stands out about this pub amongst all the others in Keswick.
