Went here Saturday 25th March with family for Mothers Day treat. Food beautifully cooked, staff courteous and well mannered, even to the point of asking if the music was too loud whilst we were eating. Been few times now and always the same good service. Can get bit noisy when very busy but small price to pay for excellent place.

Was recommended by a pub landlord near the caravan site we were staying at.

It is a contemporary pub inside but traditional outside.

Our meal was delicious, Rib eye cooked to perfection. Smoked salmon to start and olives to share.

The staff, young girls were lovely. Very friendly and smart in their uniforms.

Not expensive for the equality of the food.

Can't wait to return.

People who know me well know I do my research before rating anything as everyone in business has good and bad days, so unfair to judge as one for off. So let's begin.... Staff were friendly and professional and the food (pulled beef croquets followed by half a peri peri chickens served on a wooden salver) was to die for. Well done all for making the sleepy market down a destination for all. Top class...... and that's coming from someone whose hard to please! Happy days... ๏ฟฝ

Nice, rare evening out for us on a Saturday Night. No kids in tow for a change. Didnt eat this time but have eaten in here before with no complaints. Lovely atmosphere in the bar area, nice band, playing good old rock and roll covers, getting people up dancing and baying for more, which the band duly obliged 3 times before finally calling it a night around midnight. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Will be back for more.

I dined here with a group of friends on the evening of Friday 1st December 2017. I am vegan, and this was explained in advance, and I was asked what kind of things would meet my dietary requirements. I was able to provide a number of suggestions. I thought it was really nice in that I wasn't just dismissed for being vegan. I chose not to have a starter but my main course was a really lovely ratatouille on a bed of kale served with new potatoes. My dessert was a selection of fresh fruit with a coulis. Both the staff and the chef checked that I was happy with my meal. I really appreciate that my dietary requirements were taken into account and I was able to dine out with my friends โ€“ well done to the staff and chef. A happy customer.

Absolutely wonderful meal! Hubby and son had the steak, very tender and cooked to perfection, I had the slow cooked beef which, again, was perfect! Would highly recommend. Staff were very friendly, helpful and cheerful which made the whole evening a great experience.

My first visit to Palmers since the change of management . Just called in for a quick lunch after being out on a walk. Quite a limited sandwich menu - just 4 choices but what we had was nice. Was given the choice of brown or white bread . Sat in the garden enjoying the sun and had a very enjoyable glass of wine .

Lovely airy place, with very good food, Will return.

1st visit today along with my Niece and Sister, service was great, very polite and prompt.

Main courses were fantastic, served piping hot and fresh, loved the fact everything was homemade and the pureed peas were gorgeous!!

although we thoroughly enjoyed our main course, we were let down with desserts, only 5 things to choose from, brownies were off the menu which dropped it to 4, from which we chose ice cream with crushed shortbread, white chocolate cheesecake with fruit puree and panne cotta with biscuit and raspberry puree. Then the waitress informs me there is no panne cotta as it "wasnt set", so this drops the choice to 3 items, I then too, chose cheesecake.

The ice cream was served in a cup with NO shortbread, when asked they bring a pot with something in, when we tried it, it was a crushed up DIGESTIVE biscuit, we were picking the wheatgerm out of it!

The cheesecake arrived and one portion had been microwaved to defrost as the end was all flopped and warm, there was not a sign on white chocolate in sight, it was actually a fruits on the forest cheesecake with a raspberry jus smothered in icing sugar to cover up the fact it had flopped because of being microwaved.

Very impressed with mains but very disappointed with desserts. hopefully this was just an off day and it will improve if we decide to visit again :-)

Place is lovely with regards to the decor and menu but the carvery was the worst I have had locally, shame as expected great things as eaten of the menu many times, it was just not my opinion either as we were a table of six and spent around ยฃ240.00.

Today was the 2nd visit to Palmers to celebrate another birthday meal. After everyone else receiving their meal which mine never arrived after asking a waitress and waiting even longer I asked the staff to cancel my meal as everyone had nearly finished and put a downer on the celebration. The meal consisted of chicken and steak burgers which the buns were stale and very disappointing.
