New pastas and pizzas!

Improved Dough! After a visit from one of our Naples friends it turns out we have been using some inferior equipment in the proofing of our dough that inadvertently changed about a year after we opened. We have now rectified this and it is now back to the highest standard . The base is lighter and crispier and compliments the fresh mozzarella and San marzano tomatoes. Hope to see you soon!

We come here quite often with our little girl and just love it �Not only are the staff really friendly, they are accommodating and will go the extra mile. (Our little fuss pot loves the ‘special’ pasta they make up just for her)

Food made fresh and not frozen/packaged rubbish and pizzas really authentic and tasty! Great value for money, especially with the drinks offers! �

Visited here this week and ordered two take out pizzas, probably one of the best pizzas ive had in a long time I could tell all the ingredients used were really fresh. I will be spreading the good word!

The first time we have here and it was amazing the food was exceptional staff were super friendly we will be back

Such yummy authentic food, the Carbonara pizza was to die for!!! Relaxed, accomodating and friendly family welcoming atmosphere. 5 * ...so made up as they also do takeaway collections :)

Ordered takeaway having heard a lot about this place. 3 pizzas for the price of two! They were so good, will be back 100% and will recommend to friends &family!!

It's a small pizza restaurant with a warm friendly service and great tasting pizza. Would not go back to a major chain after eating here.

In there for lunch today, sorry meant to leave tip but had not cash. Will leave double next time.

Pizzas are yummy . Atmosphere great . All good just needs a little bit of support from the community . Needs to stay in Hoylake . Value for money � staff friendly . Worth a try .

How about serving some good Italian coffee to have whilst others enjoy dessert and also perhaps play some more ambient music - Abba isn't quite right. We will be back though and hope the business continues to thrive!

Having been to Paolo's at Heswall a couple of times and raved about the pizzas to everyone, I was thrilled when one came to Hoylake. I was so disappointed. I love margaritas - thin, crispy and bubbling cheese. The one I had at Hoylake was limp, with a spread of tomato paste and a thin coating of cheese. Not a bubble of cheese to be seen. It was like a pizza base ready for toppings to be put on. The starter was good and we had a lovely evening with friendly service but I couldn't honestly recommend the pizzas to friends.

Was served Aldi wine and would have been charged £18 – a 330% markup – for the privilege had I not mentioned it to the owner (who, to be fair, comped it). The chocolate cake, salad, ice cream and various other ingredients all came straight out of Aldi packets – from where I was sitting in the back corner I had a clear view of the kitchen.



The pizza itself was well made in the traditional Neapolitan style but was bland and mostly devoid of taste.



Overall I wouldn't rate Paolo's at all. While I understand that independent restaurants have tight profit margins and need to save money where possible, supplying your restaurant from Aldi and then charging a premium for it is abusive to customers and takes them for fools. On that basis I certainly will not be back.
