My dad was recently admitted to Papworth Hospital after having a sudden heart attack & they could not have done a better job. The paramedic team from Bedford Southwing took him straight to Papworth. As soon as we arrived the surgeons were waiting for us on the arrival & took him straight to theatre & operated straight away as soon as we got there at around 9am. My dad came out of theatre by 10am. They acted so fast & prescribed him the correct dosages of the right medication which his doctors failed to do. I am hugely grateful for what they have done for my dad. They are excellent at what they do & they saved his life. I cannot find enough words to Thank you & bedford southwing paramedics.

At times of anxiety a helpful friendly voice at the end of the phone is essential.
The staff at papworth fulfill and exceed that need.
Please keep up that good work.

Although fantastic surgery the sides of the bed were often left down which was very concerning with such a highly medicated patient (pain relief) that could have fallen out!! I personally put the sides of the bed up on numerous occasions (not everybody has that privilege). I also flagged this up. There is no point in 6 hours of successful surgery for a patient to then fall out of bed while in their recovery process.

My father suffered his second heart attack & was taken straight here from Bedford (where he lives.) Was treated immediately, doctors and nurses gave the best level of care I have come across in any hospital & he was very happy with how he was treated. If you are unlucky enough to find yourself in hospital with a heart problem; this is the best place for you.

My twin brother had a heart and lung transplant over a decade ago and for that we are forever in this great hospitals debt.
Yesterday I visited to take part in a clinical trial. To my great embarrassment I fainted when I was about to start a bike test!! 4 minutes later I had come around and there was a room full of nearly 10 people. I had terrific after care and is just further evidence of what a great team works out of this hospital. Thank you ladies and gentlemen x

My husband was taken to Papworth with a heart attack. He died after a week of amazing care by people who were dedicated to excellence in all aspects of their job. I was glad that at the end of his long and happy life he was treated with respect, as was I. The staff enabled me to stay with my husband during this time (a lovely staff nurse even finding me somewhere to have a shower). Thank you HDU and Hemingford Ward keep up the good work.

My father was taken to Papworth on Monday 22nd as an emergency, within an hour they had treated him and he was on the ward recovering. You are all amazing and what you do is unforgettable. At the age of 54 I arrived in a very bad way at Papworth on 10th Oct 2016 and was operated (pulmonary endarterectomy) on the 11th Oct and discharged on 8th November and was amazed within the four weeks after the operation how my body had a strengthened.
Thank you for the treatment and care by ALL of the team that were involved in every aspect for giving me a quality of life back that I never thought possible.
Each day that I walk without the need to stop to let my heart rate & breathing slow down I consider myself so very lucky and appreciative to have the Papworth team on my side.

I go here on a regular basis for an overnight sleep study to keep check on sleep apnoea. Over the years the staff have been consistently helpful, giving time for any concerns I may have. I have always been treated with dignity and respect and, whilst the ward does not offer 5***** star accommodation or services, it has always been scrupulously clean and the essential basics taken care of. However, give the morning toast a miss......!!

Phenomenal service throughout. Very impressive from everyone we met.
