Interesting development at Westminster with 7 MPs leaving the Labour Party to be the “Independent Group”. They have a website which contains their values. These reflect the Conservative values of Parklands campaigner John Watts.
Initiative from the Conservative government which should help pollution and congestion on the Great North Road and throughout our ward.
This weekend all Parklands ward properties in Garden Village and Great Park should have received a communication from us. Anyone who would like additional copies or whose home we inadvertently missed, just send us a message and we will ensure more are delivered to you.
Fresh morning for our campaigner John Watts to do another 10km run round the ward. Apart from the inconvenience and mess of continued works constricting a cycle path between Greystoke and Brunton Parks it was a delight.
We walked 6.1 miles round Garden Village between Christmas and New Year receiving interesting and various views on reopening the Hollywood Avenue/Salters Lane Bridge over the Ouseburn. Clearly whatever happens isn’t going to satisfy everyone.
We’ve been trying to get the council to clear up leaves a resident was concerned to be a slip hazard this week. As the council didn’t respond we did. Local Conservatives cleared the leaves today - making Parklands better and safer.
Newcastle City fireworks on New Years Eve confirmed. Civic centre at 6pm and Quayside at midnight.
Do you know it’s 7.7 miles to visit every house in Melton Park? Our candidate John Watts does as he’s done it this week. With so many residents telling him they share his concerns about loosing the local amenity of Brunswick Tip, he’s determined to campaign even harder to keep it open.
The sun is shining and a few of our team have been making the most of it, out on Brunton Park delivering leaflets and meeting residents and business owners. If anyone has any issues they’d like our candidate to be aware of phone or text him, his mobile number is on the leaflet.
Today we’ve been busy delivering on Great Park, meeting residents and listening to their concerns about “The Consortium” and maintenance issues of the public areas. On Saturday morning our candidate John Watts and other members of our team will be in Brunton Park. If you’d like to meet John come and chat to him outside Brunton Park shops at 10:30am
Our Parklands candidate continues to “run the ward”. Today he did 10km round the boundary, chatting on the way to residents about dog littering, and between rain showers managed to deliver some leaflets. We hope every house the ward will receive a leaflet within in the next couple of weeks.
I’m highlighting this issue which isn’t on our ward but will impact on Parklands residents if the facility is closed down.
Our candidate John Watts has been meeting business owners in Brunton Park this afternoon. As a former ‘copper’ he was keen to find out more about this particular business. A hidden gem lies behind the colourful shop front, well worth a visit.
Good morning. We’ve selected a new candidate for Parklands ward who’s keen to introduce himself to residents. It’s John Watts, a retired Newcastle Police Officer. Send us a message if you’d like him to call round and meet you.
