Parkside Community Hall Description
Parkside Community Hall is the local community hall serving Ampthill. It is a charity run by a voluntary management committee for the benefit of the local community. The hall was refurbished during 2013 and the 'new' hall reopened on 14th December.
The previous building was opened in 1965. Planning permission was obtained in 1960 on land purchased from the Duke of Bedford but it was not until 1965 that, after taking out a loan of £5000 secured on the homes of three Trustees, the hall was built at a cost of £11, 000. By 2013 the hall was in need of urgent renewal.
Many plans had been proposed over the years from a complete rebuild to a refurbishment. In 2010 the Town Council committed over £500, 000 to the Project, and a joint Parkside Hall Trustees / Council “Task Force” was set up; and a pragmatic solution using the funds available agreed.
Planning permission was obtained to completely rebuild the entrance, kitchen, toilets and bar areas; and refurbish and reclad the existing main hall and stage.
Funds are still needed for the hall and you can still donate at:

Many thanks in anticipation.
