Unfortunately (or fortunately for Rob) the Brownsea swim was cancelled this morning. The right decision but frustrating for all of those raising money for charities. Hopefully it will be rearranged, and we’ll keep you posted, but if it isn’t then to all those who have sponsored him for the Dorset Blind Association so far, we’re sure to find something equally crazy for him to do! For this reason we’ll keep the fund raising page going for now.

Date rescheduled due to bad weather. Rob will now do the swim on the 23rd September.
It must be summer because as usual at this time of year, at least one of us does something crazy for charity.... This time Optometrist Rob is swimming all the way round Brownsea Island to raise funds for the Dorset Blind Association! Wish him luck or even better donate some pennies to this worthy cause - oh and don't mention the sharks!

The winner of the BH Life magazine (Bournemouth Life, Bournemouth Borough Council) Essilor UK “Road Pilot” FREE SPECTACLES competition collected her fabulous new spectacles today!

Simon Oliver, a member of our pedal car racing team is undertaking an amazingly tough endurance run for the The Dorset Children's Foundation. On the 7th and 8th of April he’s taking part in the gruelling 82 mile Jurassic coast trail run that he has to complete in under 24 hours in order to successfully finish. He has to self navigate and it includes 10,000 feet of climbing - that’s more than 3 hilly marathons back to back and overnight! He is really close to reaching his sponsorship target, so if you could spare a few moments and visit his page to leave even a small donation, it would really help.

A couple of us made it in this morning, so we are open. The approach is still very icy though so be careful if you do venture in.

Despite stirling efforts all round, none of the staff could make it to the practice today, so we are closing and canceling the clinics. If you know anyone with an appointment please pass this on so that they don’t have a wasted journey. Sorry for any inconvenience and stay safe.
