Passion Pictures Description
Passion is a multiple-Oscar-winning independent production company with offices and animation studios in London, Paris, Melbourne and New York. We create every form of animation and live action imaginable across an unlimited range of media.
Between Passion Pictures and Strange Beast we represent over 60 exciting directors, from established names to emerging talent. Together, this team makes an enormous range of work including commercials, digital, shorts, features, music videos, computer games, websites and live events.
Passion is world renowned for its ground breaking Gorillaz music videos, a 10 year collaboration with the band’s founders Jamie Hewlett and Damon Albarn and Passion director Pete Candeland which produced a multitude of award winning films and live concerts.
We are also enormously proud of The Lost Thing, a short film directed by Andrew Ruhemann and Shaun Tan and winner of an Oscar Academy Award for Short Film Animation in 2011. The Lost Thing was produced by Passion Pictures Australia with funding from Screen Australia and Passion Pictures.
The TV commercial campaign for Compare the Market directed by Darren Walsh has broken industry records in terms of its success and Aleksandr the Meerkat has become a UK household name. The stunning animation for the Harmonix game The Beatles: Rock Band directed by Pete Candeland was described by Rolling Stone magazine as “insanely cool”. Dementia UK launches a three-minute film ‘Together Again’ that highlights the specialist one to one support its Admiral Nurses deliver to people living with dementia.
