Some recent street photography

We went Scarborough yesterday. My favourite photo of the day was this one, taken in the car as we stopped for petrol on the way there. We did get at least one nice one of the beach, though, of mum and son hogging the beach towel while daddy got a wet bum sitting on the sand to take the photo.

Is it still called street photography if the street is down by the river? I'm gonna say it is. I love looking at street photography but I've always avoided it because I'm not really sure what the etiquette is with shooting strangers. I eased myself in with some faceless shots taken from behind.

Shadows, silhouettes, haze. The bright February sunshine is no good for outdoor portrait shoots but for shots like this it's brilliant.

Upstairs downstairs. Two sets of steps: a stone flight leading up to two lunching ladies and a shadow flight leading down to some friends having a coffee. I spent the day seeking out shadows and this was one of my favourites
