About Pax Lodge

A World of Possibilities

Pax Lodge Description

As one of five World Centres of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS), Pax Lodge is "a place where strangers soon are friends". The centre is situated in Hampstead, North London, next door to the WAGGGS' international HQ.

Pax Lodge offers scheduled programmes and events throughout the year. All of our programmes involve exploring other cultures, learning about international Girl Guiding /Girl Scouting and discovering London. We also discuss many of WAGGGS' global objectives and projects.

In addition to our scheduled programmes, we offer:

* B& B accommodation for everybody.
* Tailored programmes for Guiding /Scouting groups (email programme@paxlodge. wagggs.org for details).
* Daytime and evening activities.
* Booked in advance dinners for 30 people or more.
* Conference room facilities available for hire.

On Friday 15th February, we welcomed a group of Guides and Scouts from Norway. They joined us for a whole day of International Adventure and Friendship with a focus on Leadership. Our International Volunteers were able to share information about where they are from and their experiences of Guiding and Scouting. Time was also given to sharing information about all five World Centres. [ 39 more words ] https://paxlodgeblogs.wordpress.com/…/i nternational-advent…/

It may be grey and overcast in London today ☁️, but we are cheering ourselves up by thinking about our upcoming Summer Adventures. Why not join us on a Journey Through London? Spaces available in June and August. Email program@paxlodge.wagggs.org for more information 🌞

I am 18 years old and I just finished high school in June of 2018. I am from Ontario Canada. I have been involved in guiding since I was 7 years old. I love being a part of the global sisterhood. Though out my time in guiding I have been to Toronto with 150 other girl guides from around Canada to have conferences about issues that really mattered to us, I have also been on a national sponsored trip to Northern B.C. I have Mexico in my blood with the culture, music and obviously food. I have an amazing family that I take in my heart with every step I make. We love music, food and discovering the world. Always with the conscience of fighting for our dreams and leaving the world better than what we found. I have been a girl guide all my life and I have learned about leadership, autonomy, friendship the teamwork, never give up, to face the difficulties with integrity and optimism and always continue forward opening our own journey. My name is Rachel Mudita. I am 19years old and come from Zimbabwe. I have been a guide from the time I was 10 years old and now I am a young leader in my association. Guiding has been more than a hobby for me; it became a self-development platform for me. This made stand out amongst other students as I was elected head of the debate club and assistant guider for the girl guides and rangers company at my school. I am from the United States, I grew up in California. After graduating high school, I went to a four year university to study Communication Studies and Spanish. After graduating, I joined the Peace Corps and served in East Timor for two years. I wanted to continue exploring the world and applied to be a volunteer here at Pax Lodge. I have been in Girl Scouts my whole life and am excited to continue my journey of scouting at Pax Lodge. [ 75 more words ] https://paxlodgeblogs.wordpress.com/…/h i-my-name-is-sinead…/

We (a group of Girlguiding Leaders) stayed here to celebrate my birthday. We had a great time thanks to the lovely staff/volunteers. Highlights were doing the Pax Lodge Challenge and learning loads about PL, the local area and WAGGGS; and the flag ceremony with other visitors. Really lovely

weekend, thank you.

Recently visited and had the best time. Everyone is so friendly and welcoming. This is our second visit and would recommend to all to visit this world Centre.

User

Pax lodge has been perfect for our family of 5 for a 3 day trip to London especially with tube stations around the corner. The service has been brilliant, and nothing was too much trouble. It was clean, warm, homely and safe. Our room again was perfect for us. We had a shared toilet and shower room which was absolutely fine and right outside our bedroom door. The self service breakfast was lovely with a great variety. Would highly recommend and will be back one day.

User

Love Pax Lodge and being able to bring our Rangers to visit a world centre. The volunteer staff are so friendly and welcoming and though we are far far away from home - they make it feel like you are coming home.

Great Thinking Day Weekend with 1st Chalford Guides & Spotty Dotty Rangers at Pax this weekend. Thank you! The girls had a great time and want to come back....!

User

Great Guiding experience. Easy access to Underground to explore London.

User

A great place to stay in London. Nice location and comfortable rooms. My scout troop found it a great base while we explored London!

User

A big thank you to the welcome greeting we received yesterday. After arriving from an overnight flight plus 5 hour time change, we were a bit ragged. After our tour and pining, we rested up before finding the geocache and figuring out how to get back to our hotel with the navigation assistance from the PAX volunteers. A great way to start our London experience.
