You done such a amazing job looking after my grandad and supporting the family thru the hardest time of our lifes. For that we will be forever thankful

Where do you start. The staff at the peace hospice are impeccable. My dad went to the classes fortnightly and loved it. It was great for him to get out and about and to spend time with people who understood what he was going through. My dad was desperate to go to the hospice in his last days and they managed to get him a room. He spent his last 2 days in the hospice and the care the staff provided was amazing. I think they may have been a bit shocked by the amount of us there (never less than 6 people!) and constant visitors. They accommodated us in our hours of need. Thank you so much for all you did for my dad and our family. We will forever be grateful. The family of Malcolm Atkins 17.09.2017 xx

Today I visited the Peace Hospice to spend some time with the memory tree to commemorate my mum, Helen Cunnane, who was admitted to your care last Christmas. I headed into the in-patient unit on the off chance that I may see one of your many special angels who gave me and my mum such comfort during a emotionally tough time. And lo and behold, there Martina was walking towards me. I didn't think for a moment that she would remember me but she did and scooped me into her arms for a hug. Just as she did when my mum passed away on 6th January of this year when she stayed after her shift to sit with me and mum. I can't tell you how much you all mean to me, helping us through one of the toughest times in our lives when we have to let someone we love go. Holding us up with care and love and giving us the strength and time to put ourselves back together again piece by piece. When I first walked through your doors on Christmas Day, the serenity, peace and understanding I felt was overwhelming and I just knew that me and my mum were in the arms of angels and that we were not alone on our painful journey. I so dearly wish that everyone could be given such comfort when their time comes but sadly I know this isn't possible. Please remember that long after a family has said their final goodbyes to loved ones and left the building, you will always remain in their hearts. I wish you all a peaceful Christmas and thank you from the bottom of my heart again.

The ‘Care’ in your logo should be the boldest word.

‘Care’ is a word that is thrown around too easily today.

Sadly, it is so often care that is lacking in the healthcare industry and in the healthcare professionals whom we must trust.

Which is why it’s so heartening to discover Peace Hospice Care.

The compassion, respect and dignity with which you treat your patients, and their loved ones, is simply breath-taking.

At the times in our lives that are the most difficult, your genuine warmth and humanity make them so much easier to bear.

When my mother spent her last few days in your care last month, we could not have wished for a better environment under such sad circumstances.

Your family room was an amazing feature that allowed my wife and two little girls to stay close until the end.

For all of the above, we are forever grateful.

Thank you to all the nurses, carers, counsellors, volunteers, doctors, donors, chefs and maintenance people, everyone who makes this remarkable place possible.

User

Thank you so much for the care you gave my Grandad in his last days. He passed peacefully. Both my parents raved about the nurses and care provided, not just to my grandad but to my family who were going through the worst time. Thank you.

User

Thank you so much for looking after my dad Bob Chapman. The care and treatment he is still getting is fantastic. So good in fact he does not want to leave you.. Thanks for being there. I am ashamed to admit I was oblivious your facilities existed until we needed you. The people that work there are amazing either paid or giving their time for free your never without a smile.

User
