Ambulance visit ޟš‘
Our lucky children at Pear Tree had a visit today from Sarah and Laura in their Ambulance. Sarah and Laura have been doing some volunteer work at Pear Tree and Pebbles over the last few months and the children have loved having them around to play with. They both work as Paramedics and as a very special treat they brought their ambulance to the nursery for the children to explore. ... The children had a lovely time learning all about how paramedics help people and being able to take a look inside the Ambulance.
What an exciting day, thank you so much to Sarah and Laura for making this happen. ޟš‘ãِÿ¡ÞŸš‘ãِÿ¡

What we have been up to this week 㘀ÿ¡ÞŸ’ÎޟŒ
This week we have enjoyed being outside in the sunshine!
The children went on an adventure in the garden to hunt for different bugs and insects. We found a family of snails hidden under a rock. We discussed the different shapes and patterns on their shells and talked about what they might need to help them live.
... The babies have enjoyed water play, exploring the sand and having fun on the see saw.
We have spent lots of time outside this week making the most of the beautiful weather. 㘀ÿ¡

The wonders of a cardboard box ޟ“Î
Today we had some cardboard boxes delivered to the nursery by Tasha〙s daddy.
One of the box〙s was almost the size of a car! ... The children were so excited by this and decided that they wanted to make a castle out of the boxes.
Tasha cut out some windows and a door. She also made a tunnel to crawl through to get into the castle. The children let their imaginations run wild while playing in the boxes.
Our Pear Tree castle has also been a space ship, a car, a fairy kingdom and so much more.
It〙s amazing the curiosity and imagination that the children have with such a simple object as a card board box. ãِÿ¡

Your imagination is the limit ޟ’¨
The children at Pear Tree have been using their imagination with the tyres this week. We made a bug hotel in the garden for all the different insects to come and explore.ޟ•ñޟ›ÞŸž
... We then worked out how to move the tyres around the garden while the children were inside them. This activity kept the children curious and involved for most of the afternoon.

It〙s a water play kind of day ޟ’Î
The children have enjoyed the warmer weather today and have been having fun with different types of water play. Outside we explored different ways of pouring and transporting water. We loved using the colanders and observing the water trickling out into the paddling pool. The children asked for white water outside to make it a bit more exciting! ... We also had a sea life tray that the children were very interested in. They used the small glitter shakers to brighten up the tray with lovely sparkly colours.

Creativity is key ޟ”‘
The children have enjoyed a variety of activities today that have got their creative caps working! Outside the children have enjoyed playing with different coloured and scented water with vegetables and fruits in. They used a variety of tools to pour the water down the tubes into the trough.
... The children who played inside enjoyed being artists with their very own hand made paint pallets. They made some lovely marks using different coloured paint and spent lots of time and attention on their picture on the easel.
Back outside in the garden a group of children have been digging for insects. ޟ•ñ We have been looking at our vegetable patch and talking about the different fruit and vegetables we would like to plant. We spoke about what we needed to do to help our plants and vegetables grow and enjoyed getting nice and messy!
What a fun day we have all had 㘤ÿ¡

Pear Tree Easter Party ޟ¯ÞŸÈޟ¯ÞŸÈޟ¯ÞŸÈ
Thank you to all of the parents who attended our Easter party yesterday, it was a brilliant turn out and lovely to see all the parents taking part with their children. We started off with our Easter bonnet parade and what an amazing collection of Easter bonnets we had! Then we sat down for a feast that was created by Lisa despite her being off with a bad back. We were spoilt with a selection of cakes, scones, sandwiches, Vol-au-vents and so muc...h more. The children then took part in an Easter egg hunt, having to follow the riddles to find the next egg. They all did very well and were awarded with a small Easter prize at the end. We also had a selection of Easter activities available such as Easter card making and crafts, decorating Easter cakes, sensory play dough and a sensory Easter tray. Thank you again for all attending and the amazing Easter bonnets we hope we had a lovely afternoon.

Natural, authentic and loose parts play ޟŒ¥ÞŸÞŸš
As part of our ethos we use a lot of natural materials and now Spring is here we are enjoying using and exploring the natural materials we have in our environment. The children have used natural flowers to paint their own spring pictures. In the garden our lavender tree has blossomed, the children have enjoyed the beautiful smells it gives off and creating their own scented potions. ... Using different loose parts the children decided to role play cafes pretending the loose parts were food and using the stones as money. The planks of wood and tubes became an amazing garage for our cars to race down and using some left over fruit and veg we made our own pretend soup!
