Peggy Porschen Cakes Description

Renowned for irresistibly pretty and elegant designs that are not only visually stunning but also taste delicious, Peggy has acquired an enviable client list including many celebrities, Royals and members of high society. Her cookies and cakes have graced many A-list events such as the 2011 wedding of Kate Moss and Jamie Hince, Elton John’s White Tie & Tiara Ball, Stella McCartney’s wedding, Sir Anthony Hopkins’ 70th birthday, Damien Hirst’s auction at Sotheby’s and parties for Sting and Trudie Styler, Madonna and Gwyneth Paltrow, all of which make her a highly sought after name on the party-planning circuit.

Autumn 2010 saw the opening of the Peggy Porschen Parlour in London's Belgravia. For the first time Peggy is able to offer her previously made-to-order only designs to all on an everyday basis. The Parlour serves freshly baked cupcakes, cookies and layer cakes and also offers a selection of Peggy's own blend teas, inspired by flavours found in her kitchen. The Parlour is also home to Peggy's Bridal Boutique, available to clients by appointment only.

January 2011 marked the opening of Peggy’s first Cake Academy. London’s first cookery school entirely dedicated to baking, cake decorating and sugar craft which is located opposite the Parlour in Belgravia. Following unprecedented demand for her past master classes, Peggy has personally created a comprehensive year-round curriculum with project-based and technique-lead courses and classes to suit a variety of proficiency levels, from those wishing to complete the professional diploma and kick start a career in cakes, to those looking for a fun and enriching day out.

Well worth a visit if you love delicious cake or want to fill your social media with very pretty pictures! Peggy Porschen’s is on our priority list of places to visit every time we are in London.

Well we had a perfect experience! I didn't que , we had a baby with us too which was no problem . We were there 3 hours & not moved along. Price was less than I expected for the area. Drink & cake lovely . Good weather ( but then I wouldn't even consider going if not ) . We went for the company of each other & general chill out not for the Insta picture.

I must say last week I went to elan on park lane- that was bad!

We went to this cute, little cafe this weekenn and werent disappointed at all. Only waited around 10mins as we wanted an outside table. Staff were very polite and friendly. And the cakes are to die for.

Just a few steps away from the mess that is Victoria & there is elegant Elizabeth St. Peggy Porschen’s looks a picture & very inviting. Staff were open , friendly & efficient. Coffee so so much better than the big chains! The layer cakes utterly delicious; they look beautiful but are light & not overly sweet. Washed down with a glass of prosecco-perfect start to our second wedding anniversary! A big thank you to the staff for producing heart shaped sparklers & macaroons for us. Such a lovely surprise for a couple of romantics!

I visited a few weeks ago from the north of England and went over to the academy to buy some cake decorating supplies, I was so disappointed to find it closed ! But we knocked on the door anyway and it was opened and we were invited in even though the till had been closed for the day ! The smashing manager let me stock up and trusted us to go up the rd with my goodies and pay in the little cake shop ! How many companies would do this ! I'll definitely be visiting again !

After many photos I have seen all over instagram, I finally decided to pay this place a visit. The shop looks very cute, no wonder people go crazy about it. However, I was a bit disappointed when I saw a massive queue of people waiting to be seated... but I guess, it actually shouldn't be a surprise as the shop is quite small. Therefore, we decided to get coffee and cupcakes for take out. I ordered vanilla latte which was one of the best coffees I've had in a while - very rich in taste. My cupcake survived walking around London and the long journey back home. In the end I could enjoyed my cupcake this morning and to my surprise was not dry and it tasted like I just picked it up from the shop.

Adorably quaint cake shop! Wonderful place to stop for tea and a sweet...get a table outside if it's warm. Both inside and out are wonderfully Instagram-worthy with soft pink being the dominant color palette. And let's not forget the cakes, which are absolutely scrumptious!

Visited yesterday, small queue outside (probably due to the weather) to be seated. We decidedly just to buy cake as it was too cold to be stood around. The shop is tiny and I’m not sure I’d be happy sat having coffee and cake is such cramped conditions.

I bought the Lemon, Raspberry and Rose cake which was delicious, although I could not taste any rose at all. The exterior buttercream was divine and soooooo smooth!!

I’d say it was definitely worth visiting, just maybe on a warmer day so you could sit outside!

User

It’s a beautiful place and eye catching but few downside. We had to wait in a queue for almost half an hour and member of staff let the other people in though they came after us. The cake and lemonade were amazing though.

I've wanted to visit this shop ever since I bought one of the cake decorating books years ago so as we were on a theatre trip to London from the north of England, we fitted it into our itinerary. It was a lovely experience sat outside in the sunshine sipping Prosecco eating cake. I ordered the Beehive cup cake, which was very sweet but looked so creative and my husband had the lemon, raspberry & rose cake. That one was delicious. I also bought some floral lemon cakes to bring home. Yes it is pricey but loved it and it may have inspired me to start cake decorating again!

User

I thought it was a beautiful place had to que but not for too long cakes were lovely although a little on the pricey side nice for an occasion as it was my daughter's birthday but unfortunately what I thought was a treat turned out not to be as the voucher brought for me for mothers day couldn't be used in the shop only on line and only if you live in London which we don't luckily the academy across the road will be refunding the 25 quid voucher I still think I could be clearer on the website

I came here a few years ago when i wasn't vegan. I am now vegan as i hate what goes on in the egg and dairy industry. More and more people are becoming vegan as their eyes are being opened to what goes on and it would be nice if you actully accommodated to vegans. I would come back if you did vegan cakes.

The most overrated and overpriced place I have visited for quite long time.It is pretty and that is all positive about it.

It is tiny inside ,they have much more tables out than in.However they are completely unprepared to accommodate paying customers at outside tables in cold weather.Tiny heaters only above one or two tables, horrible quality dirty looking blankets and freezing cold metal chairs.Cakes look pretty and they are very photogenic but taste awful ,they are dry and definitely not fresh ,both drinks and cakes are massively overpriced. Spending almost £40 for 2 tiny cupcakes and 4 hot drinks at outside table with very average service which I was charged for made me feel being fooled by Peggy Porschen. Will never visit again. Remember,London has many places as pretty and with much stronger focus on quality without compromising the image.

User

It’s indeed a fancy beautiful place, but it has some very disappointing downsides.

We had to wait in the queue for almost an hour to get a table. The tables are tiny, so they should not squeeze four or five people around it, but they do. So it makes it impossible to enjoy your time when there is no space to move and it is so tight and uncomfortable.

All the cakes and drinks are ridiculously overpriced. The quality of their drinks is below average. We ordered iced mocha but what we got was lukewarm latte with zero ice in it! (we had to ask for ice, we only got one small ice cube on each glass which melted immediately).

We asked 3 times for an extra plate and fork, which was ignored by the staff. For such a nice looking place like this, It’s a shame that they can not provide a decent service for their costumers.

Every time we left/returned from our hotel we saw long lines in front of the shop. This morning as we were preparing to leave, there were no lines and the shop was open. I decided to check out the attraction.

The hot chocolate was amazing! Unfortunately, the cake that I purchased to eat later in the day was dry and just OK. As many others have posted - cute place to visit, pricey, and, unfortunately, over rated....

Coming all the way from Scotland after seeing this place on Instagram I was really excited to taste these pretty cakes. It was pretty much what Instagram is about, all lovely looking on the outside but a tad disappointing when you delve a little deeper. The place itself is nicely decorated but you will probably have to queue for a while to get in. There are no heaters near the outside tables (which would be a great idea) and once seated we were placed at a table right next to the door where the icy cold air made it impossible to enjoy this place. It was crowded, the coffee wasn’t that good and the cakes really dry and disappointing. All in all a great place to get your photo taken but there are much better establishments for more delicious cakes near by.

User

Beautiful place stsff are so lovely. My 2 stars is for the cupcake. I have wanted to try one of your cakes for so long as your Facebook page was what started me baking myself, because your cakes look so beautiful. So I was so excited to visit and at long last get to try one of your cupcake. Sadly it was so dry I could hard to get my little fork to go through it, Absolutely gutted. I really thought I would be blone away.

Style over substance.

A long wait for a table in a very tiny shop, which isn’t suitable for the number of customers.

Two slices of extremely dry, borderline stale cake, which was over very over priced.

It is a lovely setting, but the actual products aren’t worth the price tag or the hype. Our cakes were inedible and the replacements were no better.

Service below average also and not particularly friendly.

There are plenty of pretty cake shops in london, I wouldn’t personally recommend going here again, especially as it is a bit out of the way.
