Last year, Pendragon had his hull blacked and new anodes fitted to provide protection against electrical erosion. This year, as part of the ongoing maintenance, I have the unenviable task of painting the engine locker! That's a lot of de-greasing, rust removal, priming and finally, paining. All in a very confined space! Think it best I slim down a bit first!

A wonderful event for boaters and their friends and family. May Bank Holiday weekend 2018 was the start of one of the best summers I can remember, not just for the weather, but for all the fun we had on Pendragon and all the lovely people we met.

I would just like to thank everyone who hired Pendragon for their holiday this year. We shall be having the boat blacked in November and we will be open for business in the new year. For those of you who've visited this site, please take a look at our website, and perhaps we will have the pleasure of welcoming you on-boad for your holiday next year. No experience needed - full training given. Adrian

I’ve never thought of Uxbridge as a holiday destination, mainly because I’ve always approached it by car from the motorway, skyline dominated by the Xerox building, my attention focused on the traffic, and an assumption there was little or nothing to see or do of any interest. But approaching the town by canal is a very different story! On entering the Grand Union Canal from the Slough Arm and heading north, one passes the Packet Boat Marina and moorings with an abundance of ...different and interesting boats. There are traditional canal boats, converted buttys, house boats, Dutch barges and tjaks, old tug boats, fiberglass cruisers and half sunken wrecks. As one passes the Waterside Inn, the thirsty among the crew may well be tempted to moor up and walk across the bridge to imbibe in a pint or two while watching the boats go by from the pub garden. Continuing towards the town, one cruises past long lines of boats moored under the trees until Cowley Lock and the Malt Shovel pub appear. The pub and the lock are next to Cowley Hall Recreational Ground, ideal for a picnic or walking the dog. Cowley Lock is over a hundred years old and can take a while to fill, ample time to chat with fellow boaters or grab another pint! The Malt Shovel is a pleasant pub with good food, a wide range of beers and pleasant outside seating; an ideal spot for people watching! Continue cruising towards Uxbridge itself and you’ll pass Uxbridge Boatyard which usually has some interesting boats under refurbishment. After the bridge, the canal widens as one approaches the town and the Xerox building appears against the skyline, looking far less imposing than when approached by road. The visitor moorings close to the Swan and Bottle pub are a short walk from the town center and Windsor Street in the old town where one can visit the 16th Century Queens Head, named after Anne Boleyn, The Fig Tree, or The Metropolitan, all of which serve excellent food and drink. After visiting the town, and cruising through the picturesque Uxbridge Lock, you’re in the open countryside, heading towards Harefield and the Colne Valley. England’s green and pleasant land!

We are now taking bookings for 2018. Cruise lock free from our base at Iver, into central London in less than a day. Visit Little Venice, Paddington Basin, Camden Lock and the Olympic Park, all viewed from the unique angle provided by the canal. Or work the locks and head north through Uxbridge towards Birkhampstead and into the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside.
Cruising on Pendragon and working the locks is a perfect activity holiday for all the family, even the dog!
... There's no such thing as bad weather when cruising on Pendragon, just inappropriate clothing - so be prepared!
Full training given - Boyancy aids provided - Free route map with every booking.

Many thanks to my brother Martin for making the new ladder to the top bunk. Three pieces of oak fashioned into something totally unique and totally in keeping with Pendragon's style. Such a craftsman!

Mr Lee Bufton writes;- I would like to take this opportunity to highly recommend Pendragon for Charter or even a static Charter as a B&B/hotel in his lovey birth in Iver Buckinghamshire. I chartered Pendragon with my friend and we was both amazed how good the vessel is kept up together, clean and well presented from the moment we stepped onboard till we left him. The customer service and support was 100% satisfactory from the questions I had for the host before/during the ho...liday being answered ASAP by phone/text or call, we was well looked after by the very kind host Adrian thank you. Every think we needed from water charts, wet weather gear, toiletries, full size galley with everything you need to cook for a Army to a high standard, and of course tea and coffee etc was on board waiting and wishing for us to use free of charge. The handover/training was spot on left us feeling safe & confident he was left in our hands! Pendragon was very safe and fitted with all the Saftey equipment you would ever need! He was so easy to handle compared to a normal standard thin Canal boat and deffo get the heads turning ;-). The only down fall was we had to give him back!
