Penlee Park Open Air Theatre Description
The Open Air Theatre in Penlee Park had its first season in 1948. The Theatre seats around 300 people and, being situated in the middle of Penzance, it has ample parking, lending itself to an ever increasing audience. Penlee Park Open Air Theatre is the theatre in the park in the heart of Penzance.
A wide range of performances take place throughout the summer season which runs from June to September. In previous years, these have included Circus, Choirs, Bands, Musicals and Plays ranging from Alice in Wonderland to The Taming of the Shrew.
The theatre is grateful for the financial and facility support offered by Penzance Town Council.

Inspired by real war diaries, Pals is an amusing and touching piece of Theatre set during the first years of the Great War. This poignant story follows Stan & George as enthusiastic pals who volunteer to join Kitchener’s new army. Their experience of life on the western front is a stark contrast to what was promised by the officers signing them up: “Back before Christmas, they said.”

We always allow dogs on leads to all our events but we may have over-stepped the mark on THU SEP 6th 7.30pm because it's ILLYRIA's THE HOUND OF THE BASKERVILLES and we don't think there's a large enough lead!
