About Pennine Magpie
Pennine Magpie is a centre for adults with learning disabilities. We provide daily activity sessions to develop independent skills and creativity.
Pennine Magpie Description
Pennine Magpie is a day centre with a difference.
We provide a wide range of activities from Gardening to Radio Production.
Our daily activities aim to develop independence such as travel training, home cooking and health and safety around the home.
We also offer a fun environment by providing creative sessions such as drama, dance and art.
Our 'skills for work and volunteering' activities give the centre users an idea of working life by building their knowledge in skilled areas; such as money management, joinery, customer service and out of centre work placements.
We make it personal for every individual who joins us by finding out their goals and suiting these around their time with us.
We are all about choice!

A fun afternoon singing as part of our 'Find my Voice' workshop! It's amazing to see everyone growing in confidence each week.

We have a busy week of activities and events lined up. Today we have an advocacy awareness session and special sensory story...
Everyone is feeling very relaxed with the mood lights and smell of essential oils!
We've spent the morning singing and dancing along to a great performance put on by the North East Producers!
We have been using the pretty flowers and leaves from our garden to create some nature-inspired mandalas!
A huge thank you for our wonderful volunteer, Jen!
Jen has been on placement from University and has worked so hard delivering exciting learning to our students, which has even including teaching sign language! Our students put on an amazing final performance of it this afternoon.
It’s now time for her well-deserved summer break, so we would like to wish her all the best and we can’t wait to see her again in September.
