Peter is a solicitor with a vast amount of experience – in 2018 he will have been qualified for 40 years! He is best known for his practice in Gateshead and while he has been a general practice solicitor – and still is – he has a specialist reputation for clinical negligence (which used to be called medical negligence) claims. He has recovered many millions of pounds in damages for his clients. The good thing about instructing him in these cases is that they are almost all dealt with on a conditional fee basis (popularly known as no win: no fee). As well as being a trained arbitrator and a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, Peter is a multi-accredited national and international mediator, a visiting lecturer and external examiner in mediation to the University of Malta and is on the list of accredited mediators for the NHS Resolution panel for resolution of clinical disputes . Mediation is a great way to resolve a dispute without involving the Court . The parties decide their own settlement with expert guidance from the mediator. It is much cheaper and much more painless than Court litigation.
