Today Osmington Bay held a Tea and Talk session for Mental Health Awareness Week. There was plenty of tea and cake provided as well as lots of information and discussion around mental health issues. The session was a real success with the staff, and it was great to see so many taking part.

PGL Little Canada 2019 Operation Beach Clean.
The aim was to get 6 Staff members a day for 6 days to clean 6 beaches... they managed 11!
‚ÄĘ Totland Bay ... ‚ÄĘ Colwell Bay ‚ÄĘ Brook ‚ÄĘ Steep Hill Cove ‚ÄĘ Ventnor ‚ÄĘ Shanklin ‚ÄĘ Brighstone Bay ‚ÄĘ Sandown ‚ÄĘ Shepherds Chine ‚ÄĘ St Helens ‚ÄĘ Ryde
In total the Little Canada team cleared 63 bags of rubbish, across the beaches of the Isle of Wight, and even larger items including a kitchen sink. Plenty going on at Boreatton Park lately with a Hunt the Senior event, where we hear only a small amount of the senior team made it back without being found, and a staff river trip across the River Perry. ūüēĶÔłŹ‚Äć‚ôÄÔłŹūüö£‚Äć‚ôāÔłŹūüö£‚Äć‚ôÄÔł Ź https://bit.ly/2CIN4ss

At Osmington Bay we had a new delivery of duvets and pillows, which made us ask the question what to do with the old ones, sending them to landfill was not an option. Marie, our Housekeeping Manager at Osmington, used her contacts with local charities and made sure they didn’t go to waste!
‚ÄĘ 50 duvets went to Rushton Dog Rescue who save abandoned and abused dogs on an international scale (A PGL staff member recently re-homed a dog from Romania).
‚ÄĘ 20 duvets went to Margaret G...reen Animal Rescue a re-homing & visitor centre.
‚ÄĘ 60 duvets & over 100 pillows went to The Sanctuary, who focus on the rehabilitation of animals in trauma both UK & EU.
‚ÄĘ 65 Duvets went to You Trust who arrange sheltered housing for people with mental Illness, victims of domestic / violent abuse, and the homeless.
