Phillip Sangwine Music

With a passion for music teaching, we at Phillip Sangwine Music offer a range of music lessons for the following instruments and disciplines
Piano, Singing, Sight singing, Organ, Music theory and Academic support for Drama, Theatre and Music.

I am based in the City of York and I have a passion for music and I think that it is an exciting and rewarding subject to teach. It uses theoretical and practical skills in a creative way. I enjoy watching each student develop their ability as they progress through the next piece of music or exam passed.

Where I teach

I usually teach in my own equipped studio at my own home in York. Here I can teach both piano and organ in addition to theory either in person or electronically via Skype or Zoom. If you prefer I will also travel to your home for piano lessons. With organ lessons I will also visit your venue if you prefer so I can teach you on an instrument with which you are more familiar

Performance
I have given a number of recitals as an organist over the years and I am happy to receive invitations to give recitals in venues big or small.
In addition to formal recitals I have played for flower festivals, nursing homes and other events. I also perform as a duet with my wife Renate Sangwine who is an excellent soprano.
