About Phobia And Fears Hypnotherapy Birmingham

Phobias and fears are largely irrational fears, in other words, fear of things that are unlikely to cause us harm. Some common phobias are things like fear of spiders, or fear of dogs, dentists, doctors or maybe exams or for some even going outside .

Phobia And Fears Hypnotherapy Birmingham Description

“Phobia” originates from the Greek word for “fear”. It is a strong continual fear of situations, activities, objects or persons. Phobias are linked to our subconscious mind and because they are irrational fears, they respond well to therapy and can be dealt with effectively. When a fear is out of one’s control or the fear interferes with everyday life, a diagnosis of one of the anxiety disorders can be considered. Phobias are a kind of anxiety disorder, used in a non-medical sense for aversions of all kinds.

A phobia is a learned behaviour, often learned from a bad experience or other people such as friends and family. It affects about one in 10 people in the UK. When a phobic stimulus is encountered, a strong anxiety reaction is triggered producing fear and often physical reactions. Most people have lived with their phobia for as long as they can remember and just accept it. No one is born with a phobia, they can develop over years becoming increasingly stronger or result from one particular incident, usually occurring when the person was a young child.

Lots of phobic people know their reactions are unreasonable, but can’t help it.

Daily lives and special events can be disrupted through the fear of the phobia. Sometimes, even the mere mention of what they fear may instigate the phobic reaction in certain individuals, and result in the same outcome as if the physical object of fear was present. Social phobia is a also a very common condition, where sufferers experience anxiety and discomfort in social situations. This can include fear of being watched and judged by others, fearing a specific social situation or fearing all situations involving people.

There are no pills or potions to cure phobias, but in therapy I will enable you to cure your phobia once and for all, quickly and painlessly. Utilising relaxation techniques and tools, the underlying cause is dealt with, bypassing the conscious mind and accessing the unconscious mind which is hosting the phobic sensations and reactions.

Fantastic, fast results are achieved, often in just one appointment, allowing you to go on living a full life without fear or restriction, knowing that the Phobia will not return.

Enjoy a return to control. Enjoy the sensation of rational behaviour. Consign your irrational Phobia to the past.

"Fear is the goal killer"
Do you know what that means? That means that when you have any conscious or subconscious fear, chances are that you aren't moving forward and taking inspired action towards the goals and dreams that you want to achieve. The latest findings in brain research confirms that common fears - like fear of failure or fear of success - prevent the motivational centres in your brain getting you to take action and from reaching your potential. The Difference Between Cross Addiction & Dual-Diagnosis. Is It Rare? People confuse the meanings of cross addiction and dual-diagnosis disorder. They are separate concepts. Cross addiction means an individual who has a substance abuse disorder and they are more than likely at a higher risk to develop an addiction to another substance; whereas, an individual with a dual-diagnosis disorder has one or more psychological disorders combined with a substance abuse disorder. Anxiety is probably the most popular state of being in the Western world today. It frequently makes the headlines, and even children have complained about "having anxiety" - something that was practically unheard of when I was a kid. Anxiety is simply the manifestation of fear. When you feel anxious, you are afraid of something that already happened or something that's about to happen - something you can't control. And because of this lack of control, you spin the thought in ...your head over and over, causing you to feel jittery, tense, and on alert for possible danger. Anxiety can keep you up at night. It can keep you from making plans and sticking to them. It can rob you of your concentration. Anytime you are caught up in anxious thoughts, you are not present in what's happening right now. And when you're not present, you miss out - on the distinct flavours in your meal, on the newly-budding Spring flowers, on how good a shower can feel, on your beloved's attempt to give you a cuddle, on your child's attempt to get your attention. Worrying Yourself To Death?
Do you worry about everyone else but you? Do you worry about your spouse's job, your children's grades, the neighbour's grass, the people running our government?
Here's something you should be worrying about instead: YOU.
What I mean is that worrying about things you can't control is a convenient way for your mind to distract you from the only thing you do have power over. And that's you. Often, we worry about things outside ourselves when we have unresolved issues we haven't faced. If you identify those issues and learn how to resolve the feelings that go along with them, suddenly there's nothing to worry about Because of that, anxiety can steal your life.
Why You Feel So Out Of Control One of the main reasons why anxiety seems to have a mind of its own is because we do not allow ourselves to fully experience the underlying fear.
We run from the fear. We try to block it out with any number of distractions - eating, over-working, drinking, checking Facebook over and over.
In short, we try to resist all the uncomfortable feelings of anxiety. But the more we resist something, the more it persists. It feels like the anxiety is going to swallow you up like a big tidal wave, and that there's nothing you can do about it. Even scarier: you feel that if you do allow yourself to face the underlying fear, you will never escape the feeling.
And here's what happens next when you keep resisting: your body feels like a giant pressure cooker. All that trapped fear bleeds into every cell of your body. You get headaches and stomachaches, and your energy level plummets. And now you feel even more anxious, because you have a lots of health problems to deal with.
