New Rogue Bench getting tested set at IPF height spec. So far, so good ・・・ Tried out the new Rogue bench today and it was pretty nice, 95kgx8 moved well on it. 🔸Not sure if I prefer it over the ER rack, need to do more benching 🤷♂️ 🔹Fronts at 127.5kgx5 didn't feel heavy but looked trash 🗑️... . . .@luke_rogers_74 ......................................... ........................................ .................#powerlifter #powerlifting #fat #gains #weights #gym #fitness #muscle #training #aesthetic #lifting #shredded #weak #strong #workout #exercise #strength #u74 #deadlift #squat #benchpress Physical Culture Gymnasium

While some of you are quitting hard , somewhere, someone is warming up with your warm up weight and turf marking your favourite Bench Press @strengthandhonour
New Bench testing time! ・・・ Bench Day. 1. 157.5kg x 2, 157.5kg x 1 and a celebratory belly pat. Didn't exactly go into this with confidence after last couple sessions so went for a PB double instead of a 3RM. In hindsight, it looked like the 3rd rep could have been there but I'm happy with the decision. Huge thanks to Divine Macabre for best lift-offs ever and @quad_dammit_neha and David for the support and feedback. Also thanks Neha for making sure I get all my reps done, e...ven if they didn't get done in one set. 2. Close Grip Double Pause Bench 2x8 80kg. 3. Mid Spoto Press 1x12 70kg. Definitely a good ending to this training week. Here's hoping rest of the prep goes to plan.

Look who visited PC today to lift some weights
Where should I start?! Simply the best gym I've ever been for someone looking for strength training. Equipment is varied and fantastic - high focus on free weights - and a few classic machines to support your workouts (and membership comes at a very reasonable price). The space is not the largest, but there is always a way to fit you in. How? Well, you'll be part of a family of hardcore athletes and fantastic enthusiasts not bothering to share equipment and space. Gender is in equilibrium (sometimes girls flood the floor), so don't even think it is packed with muscleheads and testosterone. Atmosphere is key! And we do laugh a lot...
On a note, beware! This gym promotes organization. We like to keep it tidy here. We use the equipment and we put it back in place. So, if you are not willing to tidy up after yourself, and share equipment, (and not fond of people having fun around you) maybe you should go for low cost...
See you there!
Physical Culture is kitted out with all the powerlifting and strength training equipment you could imagine and has a great atmosphere. People there were really friendly and helped me figure out equipment like the GHR machine. Changing and shower facilities in the ladies were great, and the Athenian decorations around the changing rooms and gym floor gave the place a ton of character. Will visit again!
Phenomenal set up. Everything anyone serious about strength would ever need. Absolutely worth travelling to train there. Very welcoming staff and owner
If you are a Powerlifter or interested in strength training then this truly is the gym for you. PC has an incredible range of equipment including Eilko plates, a competition rack & a competition bench & I don't think I've ever seen such a huge variety of bars ever before. It has a very cool atmosphere & every one is very friendly & welcoming. PC & Chris the owner are extremely supportive of female powerlifters which is amazing to see. I would highly recommend PC to anyone & everyone !
I highly recommend this small Putney gym - focused on strength training. The key things for me about it are friendliness, expertise in strength training (for all levels and all ages), and support in choosing a trainer and developing a programme. I have been working under the guidance of a trainer at the gym for 6 months and am very pleased with my progress and have learned a lot. There are obviously experienced and competition lifters who are members, but the gym manages to create an inclusive atmosphere, embracing beginners and experienced alike. As a pensioner myself, and a woman, I am delighted to find other people like myself there and to develop confidence in myself that I can become stronger and train without injury - both challenging concepts as one gets older.
I originally found this gym because it has Med-X machines that I had been using with the Kieser intensive strength training method, but I was also seeking a gym that had expertise in strength training for all ages and all abilities after the only Kieser gym in the UK closed down a couple of years ago. Since then, many of us have been seeking a replacement for a gym with a focus on strength training and expert trainers. This is a really special gym, with great staff and members - I am so pleased to have found it!
Have actually left this gym now due to a location move, but felt the need to leave a review. Quality gym with everything you need when it comes to barbells, squat racks, etc. The real selling point though is the members who are all friendly and informed gym goers who know their shit. Great atmosphere. I miss it! Shout out to Mike, Kyle and Fred. Legends.
Hands down the best strength/powerlifting oriented gym that I have been to in the UK. Unrivalled quality of equipment and friendly members and staff alike, create a perfect environment for any kind of serious training! The building and of course, the gym itself, only adds to the great atmosphere; with a very authentic feel of a no frills gym but housed inside a interesting/gorgeous building.
A real hidden gem and I couldn’t recommend this gym enough!!
For anyone who is serious about their training, be it for strength sports or for personal fitness, I HIGHLY recommend going to Physical Culture.
Very rarely do you have gyms that are equipped with the highest quality of gym equipment that range from elite powerlifting and weightlifting bars, plates, high quality racks and high spec bodybuilding machines AND also have a friendly, supportive community fostered within the gym environment itself alongside experienced lifters and coaches who willingly help anyone that is in need of physical improvement within their training.
Amongst the recent swarm of drone-like 24/7 gyms with subpar equipment and a lack of gym camaraderie, Physical Culture stands out as one of the few genuine strength training gyms, where everyone helps each other to become the strongest version of themselves.
If you're in the South West London area, don't bother with Pure gym or the local council leisure centre. Get yourself to Physical Culture Gymnasium NOW!
Excellent place to workout. All the lifting equipment you've dreamt of using and way more! Easily one of the best places in London for lifting.
