You’re an athlete, you have worked your blistered feet off to get to the top of your game, money is sparse, but you love what you do and are ambitious. Then you get pregnant and you’re told to slow down, even stop maybe, your salary from sponsors is to cut whilst you give birth and recover...... surely there’s a fairer way to be treated. . . What if you didn’t have to just stop? What if you could be supported to maintain a healthy & safe balance throughout your pregnancy, tha...t will allow you to recover well? What if you received some of your salary whilst you give birth and work to get back to the top of your game? . . Surely if you are a brand that cares about equality and diversity, about supporting women, you would want to put a strategy in place? . . Wednesday flow in the sunüßòü誂Äç‚ôÄÔ∏è Working through some early stage pregnancy routines for my patients this morning. ‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Ä î‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî I work with a great deal of ladies undergoing fertility treatment, recently pregnant following fertility treatment and/or have had a history of miscarriage. All of them are fearful of ‚Äòexercising‚Äô, ‚Äòoverdoing it‚Äô, ‚Äòstressing out the baby‚Äô, or ‚Äòlosing their baby‚Äô. ‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Ä î‚Äî‚Äî- Unless you have been told you have a high risk pregnancy, your ob...stetrician has advised not to exercise or to be on bed rest you can exercise. The evidence base is really positive for exercising whilst trying to conceive and throughout your pregnancy. Stimulation of blood flow to the uterus and benefits of the endorphins release to improve mood are jut a couple of the positives. ‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Ä î‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî- Things to consider: ü§∏üèΩ‚Äç‚ôÇÔ∏è pre-pregnancy exercise levels will guide what you can continue to do during pregnancy. As your bump grows and you become more breathless you will need to make some sensible adaptations. üî• Heat - keeping your body temperature fairly constant is important especially in the first trimester, therefore exercise in hot environments like hot yoga are not a good idea. üëÇüèª listen to your body, bodies like movement, exercises such as swimming, yoga and Pilates can be easily tailored to suit you. ‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî‚Ä î‚Äî‚Äî‚Äî- Any questions?
