User

Lovely lunch this weekend. The food was so fresh and the service was excellent.

It was my very first time of being there and first with my other half. It was so beautiful the food. It was so beautiful over there, beautiful fresh seafood! Absolutely loved it, also I loved my fillet steak too. The staff are so friendly and very welcoming too. They keep checking on us every once in a while to ensure that we have enjoyed our visit and food too. It was absolutely amazing. I will definitely be coming back to them in the future!

I went here for the first time last night for my friends birthday meal and we loved it! Such a classy restaurant. The waiter took our coats straight away and took us to our table when it was ready as we were early so we had a drink at the bar. The restaurant was beautiful and so was the food. I’ve been to Italy before and it gave me a taster of that again. The waiters and waitresses were super friendly and asked how our meals were and the food was ready so fast too. I couldn’t recommend it more . Can’t wait to come back again

Great service, well priced menu. Really clean too. Will 100% return for a lazy Saturday afternoon lunch

User

Good quality pasta and fabulous garlic/chili sauce with the clams . Portion size was about right I think , but was hungry and could have eaten more !

User

Food was lovely and staff friendly and helpful. I had the swordfish, was perfect! Gluten and lactose intolerances were catered for with minimal fuss

User

Amazing Italian food and service. Worth a visit.

User

A really friendly ambience in this restaurant, and the staff were very welcoming. I loved the food, I had a pasta dish which was beautifully tasty, and pistachio ice cream for sweet. No rush, very tastefully decorated and a great night all round. I would thoroughly recommend.

User

Really lovely place. Great atmosphere, food & drink. Service was good but while eating our starters the waitress asked if we wanted our mains now or to wait - obviously we wanted to wait for our mains as we still had about a quarter of our meal to go. And just as we were putting the last mouthful of food into our mouths, the plates were taken away!! So the mains could be brought. Not happy about that, especially as we hadn’t been going particularly slow or talking too much to delay the service/flow of the food.

User

Lovely meal yesterday. Good reception too. Wine chilled to perfection. Thanks piccolino

Amazing food but expensive!

On arriving, we walked in to Piccolinos and it looked empty, it was dark there was no one sat in view and the waitress was at the back of the room stood behind the bar. We walked out again as we thought we had the wrong entrance, but seeing no other door went back in. The restaurant side was busy and brighter, but through a side entrance we couldn't see.

The menu was very confusing to read, it's great being authentic with Italian headers but the extensive list of where each item is produced (2-3 pages long) AND a mini "produced in" description above the various sections of food is too much.

What I'd want to see is a description of what comes with the food! Sea Bass, for example is £20 with garlic, parsley and lemon. It's deboned, no head/tail.. but nothing else. It doesn't say that or offer recommendations of what if comes with, on asking the waiting he said "nothing" but didn't give a suggestion of the sides available. So just asked for chips, my partner then said that there is a sides section but was right at the back of the menu so had to grab the waiter and ask for some veg too! Thus making it £30 for sea bass and chips/veg. I could get an 8oz sirloin with sides for less than that!

Beer Moretti is £5 a pint, and a large white £7.50!

However, the food was all yummy and the mood was pleasant. I'd go again but only for special occasions.

User

lovely place bit on the night very poor service. food bang average and found a hair in my dish. waiters took it away offered to replace it but i was put off. no apologies or anything even before leaving. wouldn't visit again.

User

Went for a meal with family and friends to celebrate my daughters 21st Birthday.

Whilst the food was good, I was disappointed that there was no acknowledgment of the occasion. Given the large amount that we spent, I feel that a complimentary round of liquers or a birthday cake would have been in order.

There are so many good restaurants to choose from so for the simple reason that the restaurant made no effort to make the occasion special , I probably won't return.

Sadly, in the current economic climate, average restaurants struggle to survive. I would not be surprised to see Piccolino gone in the short term. So much potential, but sadly, fails to deliver.

User

We went on Sunday last and we didn't bother with starters, the mains took an absolute age to come even though we only chose the roast dinner so we didn't have a sweet x it was ok but won't go again

User

I found the food and atmosphere lovely and most of the staff were friend and lovely but the waiter that served us was arrogant and rude! After asking for a few minutes to choose our drinks he came back 20mins later for our drinks order by then we had picked our food. When taking out order he took our order down wrong and he came back with the wrong drink and when I pointed it out to him he said accused me of getting it wrong. 🙄Waited so long to take our desert we decided to get the bill and leave. Also a bit pricey £8.50 for a large glass of wine???

User

Have been in the Liverpool Piccolino many times so was looking forward to sampling the Nottingham version. Have to say a bit disappointed as the service was average. No special treatment despite a double Birthday celebration which was communicated on booking unlike the reception given at Liverpool. Food was excellent just a bit disappointed

User

Food lovely but when a child's pinapple juice cost more than a white wine this just isn't acceptable (my husband didn't inform me until we'd left or i would questioned this). No children menu provided and my wine spritzer was served in a tumbler? Shame as food was very nice

User

Been going for years as a group of 5 girls ..... but .... although the food was still as good as normal last night ( apart from had to send uncooked cold garlic bread back) the service was awful! The waiter barely cracked a smile and all of the staff looked generally miserable ! We have been going regularly since it opened and for the first time we didn't recognise anyone there and even refused to leave a tip. Hoping it's a one off but need to get people who actually like people waiting on the tables before they lose regulars.
