Pinehill Hospital

Been here a number of times both on the NHS and privately. For routine surgery, I could not fault this hospital. Staff are friendly and professional.

DISGUSTING!!!!!! considering National statistics are on the increase for misdiagnosis of cancer and people falling under the radar. My wife went in for a procedure at Pine Hill Hospital Hitchin, Hertfordshire. After the procedure my wife received an INVOICE, yes an INVOICE, with no cover letter or follow up that stressed the importance of the anatomical wording on the invoice. All it said was: "full removal of malignant tissues" and the amount she had to pay (unfortunatly not everyone is aware of what malignant means). Due to this being the only correspondence she received, she paid and was happy to file the invoice away, BACK IN 2014!!!. It wasn't until January 2017 when i was filing old paperwork and having a clear out that i discovered the invoice and the wording on it. I flagged this up to my wife straight away and the onset of panic, anxiety and stress was overwhelming, we have two children aged 3 and 5 years old and this added to the worry about the length of time since the procedure and the future of her health and life. She went straight to her GP and he informed her that she needed to request the full medical report as this should of been sent to him and a copy to her. We phoned Pine Hill and it took over a week for a response via post, this was such a stressful time for us all as a family. My wife has suffers from stress and depression for a number of years and is on strong medication, you could only imagine what this done to her. Thankfully, after constants follow up from myself, as management was off sick, we were told that it was a major error that they have identified and now rectified, REALLY. They did apologies via phone. I requested a refund for the stress this caused to my wife and family, this was escalated to the Regional Director: Andy Haysam who said NO!. When i called to speak with him "SHOCK" he is now away on annual leave and management at Pine Hill Hitchin is off sick. I can't believe Pine Hill think they can tell someone they have had censorious tissue removed when they haven't and just get away with it. This was posted as a WARNING to all those that had a procedure at PINE HILL HOSPITAL between 2014 -17 as life changing information about your medical report may of been misdiagnosed or missed altogether due to system and human error. Thankfully for my wife and familby we finally got the good news we wanted.

Had a brilliant experience at pinehill to have Brest inlargment had a top surgan mr Nick James would definitely reckamen pinehill staff are absolutely brilliant and Careing food was great made me fill so comfortable rooms are lovely like being at home thank u all so much xxxxx

The treatment and care that I've had at Pinehill has been second to none. Everyone is so helpful - a real 'can do' culture amongst the staff.
