Pinelines Project Description

This is the Facebook page for the Breaking New Ground (BNG) pinelines project. BNG is a landscape project funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
Pine Lines and Pine Connections was a project to identify and conserve the iconic lines of Scots Pines which are unique to the Brecks.
Working with farmers and landowners we have planted more than 2 km of new pinelines and restored over 8 km of existing lines. We have undertaken planting days in schools and commissioned a piece of research from UEA on the origins of the lines.
As BNG comes to an end, we need your help to continue to monitor these interesting landscape features. Through this page you can submit information and records of pinelines in your local area. You can also give us some information about the condition of the line. Does it have lots of gaps in it? Are the trees aged and covered in ivy?
Click on the join us button to be taken through to an online recording form.
Thank you for helping us look after the pinelines so that future generations may enjoy this unique landscape feature.
