Fabulous place and fabulous staff, fabulous atmosphere, all very friendly and relaxing, enjoyed listening to the guy playing the guitar and singing , what better way to spend a Sunday afternoon, we were served by a young man called James - great service

User

Beautiful building, very attentive waiting and bar staff. Food was delicious and all arrived at the same time. Couldn’t fault it. We have eaten here once before already and will definitely eat here again. Varied menu, and reasonably priced. Couldn’t fault it!

User

Luv pitcher,a shame they stopped doing chilli fries. Main bar staff were a bit miserable, outside bar staff were great, Still good though.

User

Great ambiance but the cola was flat and the pumps were out of beer?!! Lovely looking place tho and good service.

User

First time visit & very impressed. Meal was ordered & served by very friendly staff. Good choice & reasonable prices. Very cold day when we visited but lovely & warm when we first entered but became cold due to the fact they had opened the door. Would we call again, most definitely.

User

First time in Pitcher and Piano and it was a great experience.

I went on a Sunday where there is live music and that was wonderful while digging into my lovely hot roast dinner, Cocktails are very nice too.

The place itself is amazing, to say I went to church on Sundays is funny too. Great atmosphere and the staff are very friendly.

I'm looking forward to my next visit.

User

Was visiting Nottingham so thought we would call in for a bite to eat. Food was ok, we ordered pork and beef roast dinners, steak and a kids cheeseburger meal. Food arrived and we asked for ketchup for the kids and apple sauce and horse radish, 5 mins later we watched waiter clearing tables, had to get up and ask him again, food 3/4 gone before they arrived! That's why we left no tip!

User

Unfortunately not my kind of place, too busy and impersonal, bar full of dirty glasses (but that is probably because they were busy). Others seemed to be having a nice time so maybe just not for me, sorry.

User

Went yesterday for food at lunch time, got to say both myself and friend was very disappointed. I had a wrap that was mostly lettuce and they tried to overcharge me with my order and my friends stream baguette was mostly fat and gritstle. Safe to say I don't think we will be having the food again

User

Very slow service at the bar. Part of being a good bar person is knowing or have some idea who’s been waiting to be served. Poor person was waiting for 15 minuets, the bar wasn’t even that busy! Rest of the pub was great.

User

Service is so slow in this place,, 15 minutes to get served by the most miserable looking staff! Shocking place.

User

Had a work christmas meal here. We were seated behind the bar on the ground floor, as opposed to upstairs where we were last year. I was seated on one end, that was close to the stairs leading upstairs, and a door which was being used regularly. There was also a roped off section being used by a group of young people I assumed to be students behind us. we were constantly disturbed by people either going upstairs, out the door, or to the group of students in the area behind us. the students were not poorly behaved or anything, it was just the proximity and lack of privacy that bothered me, it felt like we were sat down eating dinner in the middle of a bar (which we were!). Also, every time someone went through the door, a very cold breeze blew in, making it uncomfortably cold. The table was clearly too small, we were squashed in, and this was after we had 2 people cancel last minute. If those 2 had attended, there was no way we would have all fitted around the table. I ordered the veggie option, which was very disappointing. The dish felt like the kind of thing I throw together out of what's left in the cupboard when I've got nothing in! Some roast squash in quinoa, on a tomato and basil sauce (tasted exactly like dolmio to me!) with half a baked sweet potato and a few sprouts on the side. Felt like a very random set of ingredients thrown together, and not at all Christmas-y. I get that it was a vegan option too which limits the menu options, but they could have don't alot better, especially considering that if you take the replace the turkey and gravy with a meat free equivalent, a Christmas Dinner is basically vegan. To add to it all the lights were so low we could barely see what we were eating at our end of the table. All in all a very dissapointing experience considering the group paid over £600, and that doesn't include drinks. I have my suspicions the place was accidently overbooked, or the that management got greedy and decided to squeeze as many Christmas groups in as possible at the expense of the dining experience. In summary, I will not be going again for a Christmas meal, and would not recommend others do either.

User

My friends and I came for some drinks and we could not have been more disappointed with the service we received. I know it was busy but we were stood at the bar for a good 20 minutes before anyone actually came to take our order. The young man who eventually served us (Mitch) was rude, miserable and gave my friend a drink in a glass that was covered in someone else’s lipstick. When my friend asked for a clean glass he just huffed at her. Another one of my friends advised him just to smile a bit and he completely dismissed her. I’ve never seen a bunch a people more miserable about being at work in my life and we shan’t be coming back again. If I was the manager I would be sending all the staff on a customer service course to learn some people skills. Very disappointing

User

Miserable rude staff. My dad and I stood at the bar and he placed his order, a really unenthusiastic girl who clearly didn’t want to be there, he specifically requested that he didn’t want much ice in his gin, she put the gin glass on the side and filled it up to the top, so before she poured my dad grabbed a few blocks and put them to one side. This obviously annoyed the young girl. She continued with our order and another member of staff dropped a spirit measure on the floor, she picked it up and threw it at him across the bar in an angry manner (it was really awkward) Part way through our order I saw her starting to replenish the lime bottle (half out of site) I don’t know why as none of our drinks required lime? I think it was just to delay our order as she was annoyed with us. I then ordered a porn star martini I stood and watched her make it and received a half full glass (it looked crap and I told her) so I challenged her and she said ‘well I have done it all to spec’ I explained I wasn’t happy with it as she also said they had run out of passion fruit. The girl then said ‘I will put a bit of pineapple juice in to make it up?’ I agreed as I couldn’t be bothered to stand and argue she walked off in a strop, 25mls later it didn’t look much different. So just excepted it, it tasted horrible. Even my little village bar can do better and they always have passion fruits. I asked another bar person (that looked managerial) if he was the manager to complain he said ‘erm sort of’ Which wasn’t very reassuring I explained what had happened and he didn’t really care either and just walked off. All in all really bad experience put a downer on a festive night. If you are miserable because you have to work at xmas, change jobs don’t spill your attitude onto customers. I have worked behind bars in the past and would never dream of delivering that attitude to customers.

User

Me and my partner went to visit the bar on Saturday, we were smartly dressed and this was the first bar we arrived at. As we were walking in suddenly a fat bouncer with a ginger beard announced we were not allowed in. Much to the shock of the two polite bouncers who were initially allowing us in. Im not sure what his problem was as myself and partner walked off in shock. Maybe it was because he thought he'd used his authority as a bouncer to decline decent hard working professional people into the bar as he wouls make him feel like he's the big hard man. Either way we wouldn't return as the bouncer clearly has a attitude problem and if he did that to some nutter he'd probably get his ass kicked.

User

I was visiting from America and I believe I encountered my first face to face experience of racism here. It could be an assumption but there doesn't seem to be another explanation.

I was with a group and they let some of us in. Then the doorman looked at my ID , then looked at me. Then asked me to stand to the side because I "looked wobbly". I was completely sober. I am dark skinned with short hair natural hair.... I am confident that motivated him to turn me away.

The doorman probably does not even know that he was my first face to face racist encounter. It's unfortunate.

I had a horrible experience.

User

Hadn't been for a while so thought we'd call in for a drink yesterday. How disappointing! The outside bar area was in complete disarray...the bar and tables were stacked high in used glasses and bottles, menu's were littered all over the place, toilet roll and paper towels all over the floor and the staff looked harassed. A pretty stressful experience despite the great weather. Stayed for one drink and left. Moved on to Junkyard across the road...completely different experience

User

Do not book a family meal here! After booking a table for a family celebration months ago, and having paid a deposit at the same time, we were unceremoniously told we were not allowed in as children were not allowed after 7pm (this was at 6pm!) Even though we had requested a children’s menu at the time.

We were left on the step whilst the thug on the door went to find the so called manager, we were not even invited inside.

Finally a so called Manager arrived and smugly told us that this was their policy and we should have read the small print at the bottom of the email confirmation.

All this whilst being treated like we were late night revellers!! We were left outside next to the road!

We had parents in their 70’s with us, we had booked accommodation for us all to meet in Nottingham, and had even been provided with a children’s menu online to choose a meal we were never going to have!

Apparantly, as the so called Manager informed us, we would have the same problem everywhere! So having finally managed to get our deposit back, we walked 3 minutes round the corner and found a fantastic place who could not have been more welcoming!

So all fine in the end, no thanks to the Pitcher and Piano. Great customer service.....NOT!

User

Crap food I had fish n chips the batter was like chewing rubber the fish inside wasn't good the chips was ok , waited ages to get the drinks we ordered , told them we was leaving after and took another 20 minutes for the bill , wouldn't recommend it to any one , I won't be going ever again

All in all really bad experience put a downer on a festive night. If you are miserable because you have to work at xmas, change jobs don’t spill your attitude onto customers. I have worked behind bars in the past and would never dream of delivering that attitude to customers.
