Went there last night for my birthday after a show at the Regent Theatre, absolutely loved it, fantastic atmosphere x

User

Well who would have thought this place would ever get back to where it once was.

visited on Saturday and this place was heaving and the atmosphere was electric..people laughing , Irish music going and a few ladies dancing down the back, at 5 pm in the afternoon!

I was led to believe the little guy running around like crazy is the new manager and he was a great little fella..smiling happy and joking with customers but still making sure the place was running like a well oiled machine.

The staff are polite and efficient, service quality is way up there, and the whole place seems to have had a very big blast of fresh air.

I love this pub, it holds great memories for me and a lot of people in Ipswich and it was sad to see it going downhill like many others have, but I for one will be going back.

A great pub that deserves to do well, and I wish the new manager and staff all the best of luck, but I doubt if luck comes into it!!

All other managers in Ipswich please take note...this is how you front and run a pub, sheer hard work and personality xx

Was my local for years..one of two places that serve great Guinness in town...the other being the shamrock

User

Very nice pub, specially when with music through karaoke.

User

Top bar, top guy, had a great time, would definitely recommend, made a geordie feel more than welcome in sunny Suffolk :)

User

This place is a great venue now...seems to have got busier and livlier and a lot of fun.

The place made me laugh though...the new landlord is an ex stand up comedian and is genuinely a comical figure. it is a bit like fawlty towers, but in a real good way...it runs well and the staff are quick and smile!!

It is a great place for a good time, irish music pumping out smiles everywhere and a fast becoming a good alternative to the same old same old!

And a first for McGintys....a decent pint of real ale!!

I,m still giggling ....brilliant!

User

nice friendly pub, comfy seats, warm, and the Guinness was lovely, would have been 5 stars but no dark rum? the excuse of no deliveries since xmas was unfortunate, but never heard of cash and carry? Tesco? offie? surely keeping customers happy should be no1 concern, oh well, can't have everything huh.

User

Ha kareoke on a Friday night that’s an event you won’t forget great

User

Came to Karaoke with Purple Star in this lovely Irish Pub here in heart of Ipswich ( My Home Town) from Essex. Its a old style but lovely Irish Pub. As am woman I felt comfortable here and when P.S.K are there again I will call in again.

Last night was my son's 21st birthday. He was out with a group of friends in town. McGinty's was one of the pubs he wanted to visit. But upon entry we were given a most hostile reception by the landlord. A most obnoxious person who came out with a foul-mouthed tirade at my son about allegedly heard comments from his friends. As none of his friends had even attempted to enter the place his tirade was not warranted, certainly not to my son or myself. This person has to be the most unwelcoming landlord I've ever come across. I won't be going back, ever.
