Nigel is the first.... Well 'Nigel' to come and train with us at Platinum K9.... On four feet anyway!! We get allsorts of dogs with all sorts of names... But Nigel definitely made us smile. Nigel is on a residential training course so we can address his reactivity to other dogs. Nice to meet you Nige 😁

This beautiful girl is Lupa. She is four years old and already on her fourth home! That may be due in part at least to her reactivity to other dogs. Lupa has joined us on a residential training course to address that issue.

Lola is a gorgeous black Labrador who is on a short residential course with us to teach her loose leash walking. She has a wonderful temperament with dogs and people but her owners simply can't get her to stop pulling.

Buddy checked in with us on Friday and has spent the weekend settling in. A lovely Labrador who as a result of a bad experience with another dog needs help with his reactivity.

User

Faith recently attended Platinum K9 on a residential course to address her extreme reactivity to cars, people and other dogs. She did so well in her training that we were able to allow her off leash freedom as a result. This before and after video highlights her achievement.

Would highly recommend platinum k9 as they are very professional and friendly and obviously very experienced in training a variety of Dogs with a variety of issues. We have tried a number of Dog trainers in the past and have seen little improvement but this time we have seen almost instant changes in our Dogs behaviour in regards to lead walking and reactivity to other dogs. John took the time to listen to our needs and explained everything throughly. We left the session feeling very motivated with a clear understanding of what we needed to continue to work on.

Well where do I start ... we had a really reactive nervous GSD Blaise. Blaise is 3 in August and we have owned her from 8 1/2 weeks old so we knew her history but pretty much from day one of being able to leave the house she was a nervous wreck which made her incredibly reactive to anything she came into contact with. We were referred to other so called behavioural therapists and eventually Lincoln university which basically told us to either drug her or euthanise her so we went down the drug route which although calmed her down slightly did not make a huge difference. We were getting to the end of our tether but would never give up on her and started trawling the internet for help and came across Platinum K9. I made an enquiry and Jon called me back and I felt like he totally understood the situation and we agreed to book her in for 4 wks residential training after a visit to him. Well we now have her back and what an amazing turnaround - I would go as far to say she is 100 % changed and it is now a pleasure to walk her! Obviously it is not all about her and we had to learn how to keep things going at home and we spent a few hours with Jon and Michael who gave us all the help and advice we needed and we are reaping the rewards. It’s now a pleasure to walk her rather than the stressful walks we used to have. I cannot praise the hard work/effort and support of them all and can honestly say I was a bit sceptical after all our previous attempts but how wrong I was! Thanks again!

We approached Platinum K9 after a poor experience with another trainer. Our dog Max is a large boy who is very powerful. He has a strong guarding instinct and is very protective over the family. We approached Platinum K9 to help us with his reactivity towards other dogs and people. Following his residential training and after a couple of days at home the difference is immense. We dropped off a beast and got a well behaved dog returned. We have already put him to the test and by following the instructions we were given the results are evident. His reactivity issues are no longer there. Furthermore we could take the children to the park and he would lay down at the benches with me whilst the children were away in the distance playing. Previously he would have been jumping and pulling towards the children and barking and growling if anyone got close. A special mention goes to Michael who put in a lot of time and effort with our boy. All we can say is that we are very grateful for their help and support. Thank you so much, we have a much happier household.

User

Very professional, calm & patient. Helping us to find ways to deal with our reactive Leonberger.

The aftercare following the residential programme is exceptionally good. Always available for advice & even came all the way to see us for extra help in situ.

My only regret is that we haven't found you sooner.

Would highly recommend

Traveled from Scotland to train with the team at Platinum K9, and as expected was totally worth the journey. Been having trouble training my retrieve for the Dog Sport of IPO, showed the team what I had been doing. After Jon demonstrated some of the mechanics and what equipment to use, we are now making awesome progress. My other problem is the discipline of tracking, was fortunate enough to go tracking with Jon and Ayk to be shown how to do it, now have a clear plan for us moving forward. Will definitely be traveling down again.

The boys took on my7 year of chocolate Labrador for six weeks training. Albert was a very vocal dog with selective hearing and due to my jobs working away I was unable to achieve continuity in his training. I came across from the google search engine and the reviews of previous owners really stood out.

I left my details with the site and I was quickly contacted regarding my options. The staff were very helpful from the start and It didn't take long to make my mind up to send my dog to Platinum K9.

I dropped Albert off and was met by the owner who reassured me that Albert would be fine. Throughout the training I was invited to attend Albert's training updates through the WhatsApp group on my phone.

I can safely say that I am more than happy with the results of Albert's time spent at Platinum K9. I would strongly recommend this training course to any owner looking to better the behaviour of their dog.

5 Stars for me

Thank you so much for making my giant schnauzer a pleasure to spend time with. Thank you for your honesty and patience with a very obstinate puppy. What a great team. I have no doubt when he returns to complete his companion dog training he will be in the very best of hands

Platinum K9 first of all I want to thank you for the unbelievable work you have done with our dogs for you that didn't know we have peanut (stubborn little Cow reactive /mum) cookie (nervous reactive to other dogs/dad) pig (nervous reactive/son) just a month ago this walk could have never happened due to cookie and pig not able to be in sight of each other without wanting to take chunks out of each other and peanut just doing as she pleased. after 4 week residential training with Jon and his team not only could we take them all out together but enjoy it as well!! Over 16 month ago it came to the point where pig and cookie could not be in the same room as each other so fortunately my mum Anne Greenwood thankfully took pig in to live with his brother koda where with a lot of hard work from my mum pig came a long way until he started again with his brother koda, after 12 month jealousy over affection caused the 2 brothers to react the same leaving us at a last resort situation and luckily platinum k9 was the perfect decision. After a multitude of phone calls to dog trainers for the best part of a day Jon stood out by a mile with his calm positive attitude to our situation. Firstly booking pig In for his 4 week rehab we were literally amazed by the results he no longer recacted to other dogs but was so much calmer and happier! After seeing such a transformation in the little one I was quick to ask see if the team would be able to get our family back together so training commenced with peanut and cookie. After the rents 4 week residential training as we expected the same came of the parents so much more relaxed and a pleasure to live with and in a matter of months we will be all back together once they have all got ally Michael whom spent a lot of time with our little ones which I can imagine at times drove you up the wall I can't thank you enough!!! Anyone that is in need of a dog trainer I can't recommend platinum k9 enough thank you again

Our dog Toby went to platinum k9 for 4 weeks as he was reactive towards people & dogs on leads. We were worried of how he was with people he didn’t know and didn’t want it escalating to biting. They were very good he was taken for a walk when we got there so he wudnt see us go staff were very friendly and helpful, they kept in touch with us through WhatsApp giving us updates on how he was doing plus photos and videos. We did miss him a lot but it was for his own good picked him up last Wednesday had a 3 hr handover so we knew what to do he’s so much better we’re amazed no more being dragged down the rd of hubby getting jumped on when he comes in very impressed with them definitely recommend.

My collie/spaniel Vince has suffered with fear aggression towards people and other dogs since we got him at 10 weeks old. He also has an ASBO for biting a cyclist :-( After 2 and a half years, parting with hundreds of pounds on different behaviourist/trainers poor Vince was still suffering. I searched the internet AGAIN!!! and found Platinum K9. I also found other behaviourist but something kept pulling me back to Platinum K9. After a very long conversation with Jon, I new why...... He was caring, understanding and certainly seemed to know his stuff.

I must admit the thoughts of Vince going away for four weeks absolutely petrified me, but after meeting Jon I felt at ease and knew I was doing the right thing for Vince....... I got him back on 14th December 2017 after a four hour handover, knowing that the hard work Kayleigh and Jon had put in, had to be continued with me 100%.

Well........... I am absolutely loving taking Vince out for walks without him lunging and barking at other dogs, people and cyclists. This is something I never thought would happen in a million years.

A cyclist actually went past us this morning ON THE PAVEMENT!!!! right next to us, but by having the correct tools and expert advise from Jon and Kayleigh, the bike went past with no reaction from Vince :-).

I cant tell you how happy I am........

I know the work needs to continue but as my confidence grows Vince's will too and he will feel so much better about the world.

Thank you so much Jon, Kayleigh and team. xxxxx

My boy had started being reactive to people as well as dogs, I had been trying to address the reaction to other dogs, and he was improving, but his reactivity to people was pretty bad, in fact a vet he reacted to had recommended that I shouldn't persevere with him. I remembered Jon, and took him up there in March, and Jon said he would take him in end of April. I can't praise Jon enough for the training he gave him, and also the super way he was looked after, lived in the house, nails clipped, bathed, and trained for hours daily.

I have carried on his training every day, his reactivity was fear based, as I already knew, Jon has changed his reaction. The way Jon described to me how my boy now feels, is he's walking along with me in a little bubble, and he knows as long as he stays by my side no dogs or people will hurt him. He's so happy now, so am I, we walk round my village every morning, meeting unruly dogs that go for him, no reaction from my boy, I very rarely have to correct him now, and he's on a loose lead always. Even walks past a field of sheep, who are very close to the road, he isn't distracted by them as he has his attention on me now. People often comment on how well behaved he is.

I would recommend Platinum K9 to anyone who has similar problems to my boy, if anyone out there is thinking about it, you're welcome to message me and I can certainly tell you more of how good their training is. The best thing I've ever done for a dog in 45 yrs of owning them.

My 1 year old German Shepherd was very reactive to dogs and people and would drag us down the road on her daily walks, We were really at the end of our tether with her, especially, when our vet told us to think long and hard about keeping her because of her aggression...We found Jon at Platinum K9 and he came to the house and assessed her in her own environment, he quickly identified that a lot of her problems were through fear. he advised we booked her on to a 4 week residential training course to deal with these issues. We collected Connie on Sunday and had a thorough handover and training for ourselves, I am happy to say that we are now happier GSD owners and Connie is much happier and a lot calmer. She is walking on her lead lots better and not lunging at people or dogs anymore. I cant thank Jon and his team enough. Connie was well looked after and loved during her stay including being bathed and combed.I would highly recommend anyone who is struggling with their dog to contact Platinum K9, It was one of the best investments we have ever made!

Massive thankyou to John, Michael and everyone who had a hand in Jude’s residential training. He went to platinum k9 for 3 weeks due to fear aggression towards people coming to our house. He has been home a week now and we have noticed a huge difference in his behaviour and we feel confident that we can correct any unwanted behaviours quickly and effectively. Jude is 9 years old and I was dubious that his behaviour could be changed, however John and Michael have proved me wrong and I know that if we continue the techniques shown to us we will definitely be able to teach an old dog to finally behave!!! Thankyou so much will keep you updated on his progress 😊

User

Impossible doesn't exist for Jon and Platinum K9 Team!

Thank you very much for all you've done with Lily and Rocky. They are different dogs now. They're easy to walk without pulling, Rocky is not barking at all the dogs on the street and they can be in the same room on their beds without bothering each other.

The handover was so much enjoyable in relaxed atmosphere with all your team nice and helpful.

Thank you all.

I was worried in case my dog's occasional reactivity escalated, and after unsuccessful attempts to change the behaviour with other professionals, I scoured the internet for the trainer with the best reviews, qualifications, experience and proven record that I could possibly find. I found Jon and I'm so glad we made the trip from Surrey.

Jon taught me how to control and prevent the unwanted behaviour in a 2-hour session, so I could carry on the training at home. The problem stopped within a week, and as we go forward I have a dog who is getting happier and I can take anywhere without fear of what she might do. I deliberately held off this review until we were 'through' the process, and I could comment with complete confidence which I will now do: it works - these guys will solve any dog problem you have with empathy and care.

Jon in particular has a great presence and a quiet leadership which dogs recognise and respond to instantly - and you will too! I don't trust easily, but felt we were completely safe. He has the ability to make the client totally 'get it' - he clearly knows his stuff and then some, but there is no blinding you with science here - Jon takes all the time needed to explain everything in an engaging and entertaining way, and is willing share details from his own life to illustrate his points - a great touch from a top guy!

Thank you so so much.

I took my cocker spaniel, Lilly to see Jon and get some help and advice with Lilly’s reaction (barking) to other dogs when on the lead and in the car. While I was there Jon also gave me advice on walking on the lead next to me with head up instead of constantly nose down and sniffing.

Lilly responded really well to Jon and the training and has really come on with persistence and practice at home. I’m delighted with the help I received and would highly recommend Jon and his K9 team.

I cannot recommend Jon and his team enough. My GSD Jax is a powerful lad from working lines. Jon's dog Ayk is from the same ones and Jax's brother Storm visits Platinum K9 often. That being said I knew he was in good hands. Jax had started to become quite a handful on walks and although very social and not aggressive, was reactive to everything and couldn't learn to relax.

Since being at Platinum K9 walking has become a pleasure and he relaxes of an evening with no bother. He still has his moments and there is still a lot to work on. But the hard work that Jon and his team has put in has certainly made a huge difference.

Not only am I confident in leaving my dog with them, but the facilities and environment for the dogs is fantastic.

They are a friendly team and have been on hand afterwards for any advice I need.

Thank you to Jon, Ben and Michael and any other team member who has assisted in Jax's training/care.

Best wishes

First of all I would like to wish all the team from Platinum K9 a very Merry Christmas and a healthy new year. Second of all I would like to thank John and the team for taking care of my dog. My boy Achilles is a German Shepherd, 2 and half years old. For the last 2 years I have been training him privately every week plus group training with a trainer near me. From all this training I ended up with him only being good at agility and recalls but I didn’t achieve what I really wanted with him, which was good heel work and his aggressiveness towards other people and dogs. He always lunged at people and dogs that were coming close to me and even to his trainer of 2 years, he bit his hand twice and another to man from the group lesson, he left marks on his arm. I had to hold him really tightly on the street and I was always stressed so this resulted in me taking him to the fields 3 times a day where there was no dogs.Don’t get me wrong he was never the first to look for a fight or leave my side, only when someone came near us, I always had to avoid people and dogs. Then I found Platinum K9 on Facebook and I went to see John, I straight away I felt that I could trust him and that my dog would be in good hands. Achilles was there for 4 weeks and when I picked him up he was a different dog. I finally got what I wanted, I can now walk him with no stress and worry in busy places and around other people and dogs. The lead is now always loose and he doesn’t even pay attention to others. It is now a pleasure to walk him. I am strongly recommending Platinum K9 and if you have any questions, feel free to message me.
