Refitted the lovely Rebeckah Atkinson synthetic dreadlocks! This time we only did a half head instead of full as her natural hair has grown out super long! These dreads were made over a year and a half ago, still going strong 🤩🦋 my diary is open for August still, make your appointments before they all go! ✨

I was really nervous about getting synthetic dreadlocks done. I’d ummed and ahhed for a long time and finally booked in!

My reasons behind my decision was because my hair had stopped growing 3 years ago and was gradually getting thinner. Being almost 40 this can be common but non the less of a confidence killer!

I looked in to all sorts extensions, weaves etc but all were detrimental to the hair itself..

My husband got natural dreadlocks 3 years ago and his once thinning receding hair is now down his back and has stopped receding from the front, so this was, for me, the answer.

However, I was scared if I didn’t like it or I looked stupid I would have to shave my hair to remove them! It was also very difficult to find someone in my area that did dreadlocks with extensions.

I stumbled upon Platitudes and instantly fell in love with Katy’s work. When I found out I could have synthetic dreadlocks extensions that were removable, I was very excited and booked that same day.

Katy herself is very welcoming, easy going and knowledgeable about her work. �

She also tidied my husbands dreadlocks up and answered his MANY questions, � and she made up two dreadlocks, on the spot, for us to take home for our daughter 15. (After seeing mine she wants it done).

I would definitely recommend Katy and platitudes. My very low confidence has been boosted, my husband says I look a lot younger and my kids think I’m cool and want my hair.
