Platt Fields Bike Hub

Went there and inquired about my bike and how much/long it will take to repair it. I was told they could start working on it right away and cost a lot cheaper than the other quote I was given by a chain bike shop that took three weeks to book a service. More than that, I stood right by the guy as he was fixing it and he explained to me what he was doing and why. I properly learned more stuff about the bike than I did from watching youtube videos and reading articles online. I definitely recommend this bike shop to anyone who doesn't just want to have their bikes repaired but also learn how to fix it next time/prevent it from being damaged prematurely.

Really fantastic service. I ordered some mudguards online and didn't have the tools or screws to put them on, the bike hub were really helpful with taking the wheels off, putting the guards on and checking my brakes were working properly after. They did a thorough job and have a lovely atmosphere with lots of people there learning how to work on their own bikes. The hub works on donations, but also have shop items (I bought some luminescent ankle straps for 50p each) and added a bit onto that for the donation. Will definitely be visiting again.

Had my bike fixed there a while ago. Great project run by lovely volunteers and there are other great cycling projects in the same buildings too. Defo will be back!

What a great place. If you want to invest into learning how to fix your bike rather than spending a lot of money at the bike shops in town, definitely try this.
Very helpful and skilled team. I learned how to maintenance my hubs, change a cassette, index the derailleurs.... etc.

Best bike place i've every been to. Took so much time to fix my bike and showed me how it was done!I feel like i can fix my breaks next time they stop working! Highly recommend. Very very low price for the parts we used! Highly recomend

A lifesaver for the cyclists of Manchester! The bike shop can cater for almost any need. They also offer "tool club" allowing you to come and fix your bike with the proper tools in a friendly place as well as various bike maintenence classes if you want to learn something new. Much cheaper than chucking your bike at a bike shop and you learn to boot. Always something going on too (film screenings etc). A credit to the community.
