I’m doing more ‘marketing stuff’ at the moment and one of the things I did was boost a post from my page which related to a blog.
I tailored the audience quite tightly but it’s resulting in increased reach and engagement. I’m sure Graham Todd will agree that on FB unless you shove a few quid (I only put £5) behind the odd post there’s not much traction on biz pages.
I just need to check out my analytics now to see what’s going on.
... Am also on it with LI. Most of my enquiries have come from there for my event. It takes some time but it’s easy to make an impact. You’ve just got to keep at it. I’ve spent at least 50% of my week this week on biz dev stuff but I’m seeing some reward for it.
When I went out networking this week there’s been a number of people who’ve said ‘oh I’ve seen your videos or posts’.
If you’re scared of marketing your business just do it, start small and build up. The more you do the easier it is and the better the rewards.
There's no marketing magic wand. Much like anything in business you have to get on and just do it!

Oh the glamour of running your own business.

It’s really easy for business owners – particularly small business owners to feel overwhelmed.
That can lead to ineffective decision making, fear and anxiety and zap your motivation and willpower.
Here are some things that help me when I feel like that:
... 1) Learn to say “no” - being the nice helpful people we are it’s really easy to say “yeah no problem” to every request that comes your way but actually learning to say no is a powerful and wonderful thing. It also prevents you taking on too much, missing deadlines and not doing what you said you’d do in the first place!
2) Prioritise Loads of people will tell you to prioritise the important and urgent stuff first but for me you should prioritise the things that will help move your business forward and help you achieve your goal. They may be the same thing. Sometimes they’re not.
3) Get organized. I can’t say I’m the most organised person in the world but when I’m feeling overwhelmed getting my thoughts and things to do list organised really helps me focus. Are there things that you can delegate or outsource?
