Our level 1 students enjoying participating in liberty work, as part of their Changing Lives through Horses Programme ¤śŖ. Liberty work is fantastic for helping to improve a persons confidence and self-esteem.
Dressage Times for tomorrow's Annual May Horse Show
Last week our Level 5 students, who are studying Breeding & Stud Management as part of their course, enjoyed a fabulous trip to Poppinghole Stud, East Sussex.
The students learn't about the procedures involved for a natural covering and artificial insemination, and how to care for the broodmare and her foal.
The photo features one of the broodmares at the stud with her 2 day old foal.

Now for something different!
The students at Plumpton College Equine have been getting involved in our new club- Horseback Archery!
The students have completed 4 sessions now, from learning the ground archery technique to desensitising our lovely horses and now- to shooting!

¤Äē ¤Öī¤Å╝ ¤ÉÄ Super proud of the Plumpton College Equine team!
Yesterday our Level 5 FdSc Equine Studies students who are studying Breeding and Stud Management, were lucky enough to have Carl Holliman, director of Cliffe Equine Vets, come to Plumpton College to give a guest lecture on breed soundness examinations. The video shows Carl using an ultrasound machine on one of our sport horse 'Cleo', assessing the condition of her ovaries and viability for breeding.

Last Friday our final year Level 3 Diploma in Equine Management students had a fabulous trip to Rebecca DugglebyŌĆÖs yard Baldwins Equestrian Rehabilitation & Rider Fitness. The students learnt about some of the rehab tools Rebecca uses, they had a chance to long rein one of the case horses and then Rebecca talked them through a step by step rehab programme for various injuries. All in the beautiful setting of her yard!
Last week our FdSc Equine Science and Coaching students, who are studying business management, were lucky enough to have a guest lecture from James Wilson. James is the Vice Principle of Sales and Marketing for Ariat. The talk was extremely informative and gave the students a great understanding of the retail industry, branding and marketing techniques!
