About Plumpton Tennis Club
Plumpton Tennis Club has grown into a fine village club with a friendly outlook.
Facilities include 4 outdoor hard courts, all floodlit, & new clubhouse.
Plumpton Tennis Club Description
Plumpton Tennis Club has been around for thirty years. Enthusiasts in the village started playing together in 1981 and the idea of forming a club became reality when the first court was laid in 1985. Our first club house opened in 1989 and over the years Plumpton has grown into a fine village club with a friendly atmosphere. We now attract members from local towns and across the county.
The club is situated beneath the South Downs within the beautiful Sussex countryside. Our facilities now include 4 outdoor hard courts, all with floodlights, a superb new clubhouse with kitchen and toilet facilities, and a car park.
We have a qualified LTA coach (adult and junior coaching) and an extensive events and social calendar.
Mens and Ladies teams compete in Sussex LTA leagues, and a team of Mens, Ladies and Mixed doubles plays in the Horam league.
Club nights are on Wednesday from 18: 00 and Friday from 18: 30, guests are welcome. Courts are also available to hire by the general public at competitive rates at the village shop. We're all set for Easter Tennis Camps - if only it would stop raining!
Although today wasn't really suitable for tennis (but well done to the Heagartys), I'm "King of the Court" after the Roger Miller version of 'cardio' tennis - "Two hours of pushing broom".
COACHING DROP-INS This Saturday, 5 August, there will be drop-in coaching at the club in 4 sessions - 2 for juniors and 2 for adults - running from 1030-1130 and 1130-1230. Juniors will be mixed ages and adults wil be mixed ability. Please contact Ian, Sorin or Gareth if you'd like to come along for any session.

We had a fantastic sunny day on Sunday for our annual Rosebowl Mixed Doubles tournament. Who would have imagined it could have been so warm in October. There were 5 rounds of tennis and the eventual winners were Richard Valdez and Maria Roche.
Actually everyone was a winner. We laid on a good lunch of soup, salad and cake, so everyone went home feeling they'd had a great morning.
Plumpton Tennis Club is holding informal coaching sessions at the club tomorrow morning so that you can meet our new coach, Jon Prenelle.
If you or your children would like to come along between 10am and 12 noon, to play or to meet with him, you would be most welcome, plus a great excuse to come and see our new club house!!!
