User

We went on the santa train today 16/12/17 at 12.30 and we all had a lovely time . The children aged 3-8 all loved it . They all loved their presents and playing in the snow at the north pole. The elfs and santa were all friendly and took time to talk to the children without rushing them . We will definately come back next year . Thank you for a lovely day xxx

User

We went on the 5pm mince pie express train yesterday (Sunday 17th Dec) it was lovely.. well worth the cost of just ┬Ż10 each. So many others are so expensive. All the staff were absolutely Lovely! Our youngest who is 5 jumped up and hugged Santa on the train and was so excited by the whole thing! We were especially lucky to get into the first class section on the train which was like being on the hog warts express and both of our boys loved it. Go with an open mind and donŌĆÖt expect something for nothing! Thank you to all of the lovely ŌĆ£elvesŌĆØ and staff xx

We live in Plymouth and visited the Plym Valley Railway yesterday with all the family for one of my grand daughter's 3rd Birthday with the railway's Teddy Bears Picnic day and what a great time we all had. The price of tickets was excellent value with our 3 under 3 grand daughters riding for free and each given a free Teddy Bears Picnic lunch each. The volunteer staff were engaging, enthusiastic and friendly and the work they have all put in to get the railway with track and platforms to where it now is was very impressive. We would definately come back and we would like to wish Plym Valley Railway the very best as a visitor attraction in Plymouth for the future.

User

We had a wonderful afternoon on the Plym Valley Railway. All the volunteer staff were very kind indeed and made the children feel very important travellers! Santa was fabulous and his Elf the helper giving out the gifts was superb. See you all again next year on your Santa Special. We might even be tempted to the Spooky train for Halloween. Cost ┬Ż5 each best value afternoon out in Plymouth! Thank you to you all at Plym Valley Railway. Every success to you all. You work so hard .

We all had a great time on the North Pole express on Sunday.

Reviewers really need to remember this can't be compared to Santa trains that cost ┬Ż20+ per ticket. This is such great value for money. Highlight for the kids was definitely the snow! Staff are all really friendly and Santa took the time to speak to all the children. We'll be back next year. Thank you ’┐Į’┐Į’┐Į

Took my 2, 4 & 12 yr old children to the North Pole on Sunday. I had heard mixed reviews but wanted to make my own mind up.

My kids absolutely loved it. The staff were amazing, so friendly, helpful and brilliant with the kids.

We were sat in car B & Mrs Elf (as my daughter called her) was fantastic.

Having a photo with Santa, the snow at the North Pole & returning home to the little market made it even more magical for the kids, so I thank you all.

See you next year!!!

User

Outstanding 100% effort and good value for money . Yes this may not be South Devon , but staff invest their time to make sure the Next year is better than last . This is a small railway but large in warmth . Child friendly , and a very nice Bunch of people ! PVR get my vote but hey at least their staff always welcomed my family and have since 1982 ! Keep up excellent work and see you today so my own family can enjoy that Xmas magic .Book early to avoid disapointment !

I received an email from Plymouth CAMRA mentioning the beer festival and as I'd never been to the Plym Valley Railway, thought it would be worth a visit. We went on the Friday evening and had a great time. There was a free ride in the brake wagon and a go on the kiddies electric train plus some lovely beers and a pasty. The staff were very informative and very interesting. We even got a look in the engine shed.

We will definitely be going again next year.

User

Great value and friendly staff/volunteers. Everyone dressed up and sweets for the kids at Halloween with a few stalls and mini train there also. Very reasonable prices and chance to get off for a walk at the station :)

User

First trip on the North Pole Express and it was magical. The staff were lovely and friendly and our Grand daughter was super excited with the whole experience. Plymouth Valley Railway is a fabulous place to visit and enjoy a ride on the steam train any time of year.

User

A great day today - train driving taster well recommended. A ride in the first class carriage up the line. Nice coffee great shop and historic centre. Not to mention the staff / volunteers who made us welcome and were very informative. Did I mention I got to drive a train!!!!!!!!

User

3rd year in a row and will definitely be making a forth and more trip!

Staff all helpful and polite and the girls loved Santa on the train and plenty of time at the North Pole to meet Santa, play in the snow and check out the locomotives too!!

User

Went on the sante train with my 4 year old and 9 month old.it was lovely.been a couple yeas ago and has improved.the staff were lovely couldnt fault them.santa was lovely and made an effort to speak to the children even tho he had a line full of children loved the photo opportunity to but today .felt very christmasy.the only thing i would say could do with more stalls and rides for after the train.lovely memories made today.

User

Cute little service for a great price. All the staff were full of enthusiasm and Christmas cheer. A lovely little day out for the family. Pressies were great too.

Make sure you wrap up warm though as very chilly on the train!

User

We went yesterday with our baby. The volunteers were very friendly and it was nice to see everyone dressed up in festive costumes. What was sad was that the lady giving out the presents gave them to all the children but why do the babies not get anything? I know we didn't have to pay for him but maybe an option to pay a bit for under 2's and get a little present would be nice. Also something more at the north pole would be good other than the huge queue to see Santa. I'm sure as our son gets older it would be a more magical experience for all of us.

User

The people who are running this are lovely and very helpful but the place its self looks tried and needs a good sort out, my daughter had a lovely time and thats all that matters.could be a lovely place a real gold mined

User

Absolute rubbish! Half heartedly decorated. Rushed! No build up to excite children. Father Christmas who seemed a bit awkward. Toilets on train out of service! Told my children we were going to the north poll on the train even at the age of 3 and 4 they both knew immediately when we arrived that it wasn't the north pole was poorly done up. Santa briefly stops to say hello doesn't give child a present a lady following him does. Aside from that my children found train ride boring, could have got the carriage singing or put some ’┐Į stuff to spot on the way. Can't say I'll be going again. Very disappointed
