Plymouth needs some life put into its retain industry. If Hull, Coventry and Birmingham can do it why can't Plymouth?

User

The city centre is in dire need of some proper, professional management. Its poorly promoted and poorly laid out with no or little quality events to attract people. The Barbican and Ebrington Street is the exception with a lively vibe and great little bars and shops.

User

Once you leave Drake Circus most of the city centre is dead. Why would pound shops and charity shops attract people out of the mall?

User

As usual, town is absolutely awful. Same old stalls and same food outlets set up by the sundial. There is no Christmas spirit and how long has that rubbish child's merrygo ride been by the sundial, at least get something new in. Who ever is in charge of organising festivities or general promotion of our city really need to visit Exeter and places alike. Our city for shopping is appalling.

Why not let empty units be used by business's rent free for the first year to get them in.
