A Standish jeweller has come to the rescue of a bride whose engagement ring was stolen on her wedding day. Phil Hawkins, who runs PMH Jewellery on Preston Road, heard about the heartless theft in a BBC radio bulletin and contacted the bride, Lusea, who lives in Dorset, to say that he could make an identical ring – and got it to her on the day of she went on honeymoon. He copied the intricate, original design and moulded it to her requirement...s and then gave it to her – free of charge. Phil said: “I was working one Saturday afternoon and heard the article on the news, so I thought, what a nasty thing to happen. I then read a few news articles about it and then contacted the lady via Facebook within 30 minutes. “I explained what we do and was confident I could replicate the ring to her original and gave it to her as a goodwill gesture. "I got it to her on the day of them departing for her honeymoon. “I was really pleased to be able to help.” Lusea thanked Phil in a Facebook post with a photo of her wearing the ring on honeymoon - Below is Lusea’s original post after finding that her ring had been stolen. ****PLEASE SHARE THIS*** I happily got married to my best friend James Gale, on Wednesday at St. John's Church Symondsbury (near Bridport, Dorset) at 3.30pm. Except the the most terrible thing happened. Just after we got married, (sometime between 4.30 and 6pm) two cars were broken into. The windows were smashed and bags were stolen, inside my Maid of Honours bag was my engagement ring. This ring meant the world to me. I had designed this ring, and I loved it so very much. As a result, I was a heart broken bride and was reduced to tears on my special day.. I'm begging the universe that if they know of its whereabouts or if they saw anything strange in Symondsbury on the 2nd, please could they let me know or the police. Well I would just like to thank PMH JEWELLERY I have been married over 20 plus years and it was Phil who made our rings and because soon we will be celebrating 25 years married our Silver Wedding Anniversary we decided to give our rings a make over we have had a remodel , more gold added so now chunkier and heavier and new engraving inside myself and my husband are as pleased today as we were 20 plus years ago thanks again Sandra & Gary X

The jeweller we bought the ring from said it couldn't be reduced 3 sizes ...Phil said "no problem" 30 minutes later with all the diamonds reset and secured it was a perfect fit ...happy man and even happier Fiance !!...thanks again Phil , nice bottle of single malt winging its way to you ...cheers
