About Poetry+

Pushing the boundaries of Spoken Word through collaboration with other art forms via monthly Open Mic Events and workshop opportunities.

Poetry+ Description

Poetry + focuses on pushing the boundaries of Spoken Word and what it has to offer, collaborating Poetry with other art forms through monthly Open Mic events and the running of Workshops in which poets are given the opportunity to collaborate with other artists such as musicians, painters, dancers and more.

Poetry + is all about inclusion. Work performed at our events are the products of individual artists and do not represent our views, beliefs or ideals. We will not sensor any artist in their form and therefore must express that, above all else, we respect each other's freedom of speech and work.

At this month's event we're thrilled to announce that we will be joined by the incredible Pascal Vine and Josie Alford!!
PASCAL VINE: Pascal is a Creative Writing and Religions student at Bath Spa University in their final year. Their work is abstract, charming and keenly self-aware. Touching on gender, disability, memory and nonsense, their sets often feature banter about whatever has flitted across their mind in that very moment. Winner of the January 2017 Milk Poetry Slam and featured as support and headliner in multiple nights across the Southwest. They are rather uppity for someone who's only been doing this for a year and a bit.
“Deadly and nefarious…” -- Sam Grudgings “Vine’s poetry conflates comedy and commentary in a fittingly bewitching way.” -- Connor Macleod
JOSIE ALFORD: Currently studying MA Creative Writing at Bath Spa, Josie Alford is a Bristol-based poet and event host. What an absolutely incredible launch last night. Wow. We are off the ground and ready and raring to go! Next month, there'll be even more poetry, even more + and of course, even more signatures on Guitary. There will be slight adjustments made to the running of the night based on your wonderful feedback so thank you to those that came last night and offered up improvements! Announcements will follow over the next month as to what these changes will be! Many thanks for your continued support!
