Happy Weekend Everyone . . . Today's poem by Rumi compels us all to look deep into our hearts and to find our creator; as He dwells in all of us. If we come to this beautiful realisation we would then not kill nor maim each other over religious beliefs. How ahead of his/our time was Rumi . . .
Poem-Where is God Poet-Rumi Recited by-Yasmeen
... I tried to find God on a Christian Cross but he wasn’t there, I went to the Muslim’s Kaaba in Mecca but God wasn’t there either, I went to the old Jewish synagogue and the Hindu Temple, But I couldn’t find a trace of God anywhere. I questioned the Scholars and Philosophers, But God was far beyond their understanding. I then looked deep into my heart, And it was there where He dwelled and I saw Him God was no where else to be found

Sunna Hai Junglon Ka Bhi Koi Dastoor Hota Hai . . . . Perhaps Humanity should learn from the Animal Kingdom! Thought provoking poem by Zehra Nigah for Naya Pakistan and the Rest of the World . . . Think about it!
Poem Sunna Hai Junglon Ka Dastoor Hota Hai Poet Zehra Nigah Recited by Zehra Nigah
... Zehra Nigah is an Urdu poet and scriptwriter from Pakistan. She was one of two female poets to gain prominence in the 1950s when the scene was dominated by men. She has written several television drama serials. She has also received various awards including Pride of Performance in recognition of her literary works in 2006. Zehra Nigah began her writing career during her childhood. When she was 14 years old, she learned the poetry of prominent poets by heart. She is inspired by the classical tradition of Urdu poetry.
Poem Roman Urdu Suna hai janglun ka bhi koi dastoor hota hai Suna hai Sher ka jab pait bhar jaye to woh hamla nahee karta Darakhton ki ghani chhaon mein ja kar let jata hai Hawa kay taiz jhonke jab darakhton ko hilate hain To maina apne bache chhor kar Kawway kay andon ko paron mein tham leti hai Suna hai ghonsle se koi bacha gir paray to sara jungle jaag jata hai Suan hai jab kisis naddi kay pani mein baye kay ghonsle ka gandami saaya larazta hai To naddi ki rupehli machhlyaan usko padosi maan leti hain Koi tufan aa jaye koi pull toot jaye toh Kisis lakri kay takhtay par Gulehri, saanp, bakri aur cheetah sath hotay hain Suna hai janglon ka bhi koi dastoor hota hai Khuda wanda, jaleel o mohtbar Daana o beena, munsif o akbar Mere is shahr mein Ab janglon ka he koi qanoon nafiz kar
Translation in English We hear that even the jungle lives by a certain code We hear that when the lion has eaten his fill He does not attack But goes and stretches out beneath the dense shade of trees When strong gusts of wind make the trees shudder The starling leaves her own children To protect the crow’s eggs with her wings We hear that if a young bird falls out of the nest All the jungle wakes up from sleep We hear that when in some river The tawny shadow of the weaverbird’s nest trembles over the water’s surface The silver fish of the river regard it as a neighbour If a storm comes, or a bridge collapses Then on a single plank of wood The squirrel, snake, goat, and leopard all huddle together We hear that even the jungle lives by a certain code O Lord! O Glorious, Revered One O Wise, Just, and Mighty One In this city of mine At least put into practice some code of the jungle We hear that even the jungle lives by a certain code

Happy Weekend Everyone! . . . This week's poem celebrates the great Romantic Poets, with Shelley's Love's Philosophy. Beautifully recited by the modern day mysterious Bard . . . Tom O'Bedlam . . . Enjoy!
Love's Philosophy by Shelley is a romantic lover's playful argument, putting forward his case for the union of love. In the poem natural imagery and strong rhyme appeal to the reader's senses, presenting this relationship as something innocent, simple and inevitable.'Philosop...hy' here means an argument or a way-of-thinking.
Love's Philosophy by Percy Bysshe Shelley
The fountains mingle with the river And the rivers with the ocean, The winds of heaven mix forever With a sweet emotion; Nothing in the world is single, All things by a law divine In another's being mingle - Why not I with thine?
See the mountains kiss high heaven, And the waves clasp one another; No sister-flower would be forgiven If it disdained its brother: And the sunlight clasps the earth, And the moonbeams kiss the sea - What is all this sweet work worth, If thou kiss not me?
Shelley was a Romantic Poet and the poetry of the Romantic poets was not just restricted to describing love. William Wordsworth defined poetry as the 'spontaneous overflow of powerful feelings' in his preface to the Lyrical Ballads.
One common theme is that experiences were understood by Romantic poets through their effects on personal emotions. However, poetry by Wordsworth, Shelley and Coleridge often shared other hallmark characteristics. For example, the use of natural imagery and simple verse forms. As this poem by Shelley includes all of these, it is a good example of a Romantic romantic poem.

Greetings Everyone! Today's poem is a Tribute and in Honour of Abdul Sattar Edhi Sahib on his first Death Anniversary - Pakistan's Angel of Mercy & One of the Greatest Humanitarians. Lets not forget this 'Great Man' and what he stood for . . . Please Share
Poem by Saeed Hashmi Recited by Rana Saquib Ahmed Produced & Edited by Tahira Rana
... Abdul Sattar Edhi (c. 28 February 1928 – 8 July 2016) was a Pakistani philanthropist, ascetic, and humanitarian who founded the Edhi Foundation, which runs the world's largest volunteer ambulance network, along with homeless shelters, rehab centres, and orphanages across Pakistan.
Born in Bantva, Gujarat, British India in 1928, Edhi moved to Karachi where he established a free dispensary for Karachi's low-income residents. Edhi's charitable activities expanded in 1957 when an Asian flu epidemic swept through Karachi. Donations allowed him to buy his first ambulance the same year. He later expanded his charity network with the help of his wife Bilquis Edhi.
Over his lifetime, the Edhi Foundation expanded backed entirely with private donations including establishing a network of 1,800 minivan ambulances. By the time of his death, Edhi was registered as a parent or guardian of nearly 20,000 children. He is known as Angel of Mercy and is considered to be Pakistan's "most respected" and legendary figure. In 2013, The Huffington Post claimed that he might be "the world's greatest living humanitarian", while on 28 February 2017, Google celebrated Edhi with a Google Doodle hailing his "super-efficient" ambulance service.
Edhi maintained a hands-off management style and was often critical of the clergy and politicians. Edhi was a strong proponent of religious tolerance in Pakistan and extended support to the victims of Hurricane Katrina and the 1985 famine in Ethiopia. Edhi was nominated several times for the Nobel Peace Prize, including by Malala Yousafzai. Eidhi received several awards including Gandhi Peace Award and the UNESCO-Madanjeet Singh Prize.

Happy Friday - It's Upload Day . . . Poem - Koi Yeh Kaise Bataye by Kaifi Azmi Voiceover Artist Ayub Ghauri Produced & Edited by Tahira Rana See Poem Translation Below
... Poet Kaifi Azmi was an Indian Urdu poet. He will always be remembered for bringing Urdu literature to Indian Motion Pictures. He is one of the greatest, and by far the most influential, Hindi lyricist to grace the Indian film industry.
Like most of the Urdu poets, Azmi began as a Ghazal Writer, cramming his poetry with the repeated themes of love and romance in a style that was replete with clichés and metaphors. However, his association with the Progressive Writers' Movement and Communist Party made him embark on the path of socially conscious poetry. He was the recipient of Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kaifi_Azmi< br> The poem is taken from the Indian Film Arth (1982) which was Directed by Mahesh Bhatt and starred Shabana Azmi (Kaifi Azmi's daughter) and Kulbhushan. The Movie featured a memorable soundtrack by Ghazal duo Jagit and Chitra Singh.
Poem in Roman Urdu Koi Ye Kaise Bataye Ke Woh Tanha Kyon Hai? Woh Jo Apna Tha Aaj Kisi Ka Kyon Hai? Yahi Duniya Hai To Phir Aisi Ye Duniya Kyon Hai? Yahi Hota Hai Phir Aisa Hota Kyon Hai?
Ek Zara Haath Bada De To Pakad Le Daaman (Qurbat = closeness) Uske Seene Mein Sama Jaaye Hamari Dhadkan Itni Qurbat Hai To Faasla Itna Kyon Hai? Dil-E-Barbaad Se Nikla Nahin Ab Tak Koi Ek Loote Ghar Pe Diya Karta Hai Dastak Koi Aaas Jo Toot Gayi Phir Se Bandhata Kyon Hai?
Tum Masrrat Ka Kaho Ya Ise Gham Ka Rishta (Masrrat = Happiness) Kehte Hai Pyaar Ka Rishta Hai Janam Ka Rishta Hai Janam Ka Jo Yeh Rishta To Badalta Kyon Hai? Koi Ye Kaise Bataye Ke Woh Tanha Kyon Hai?
Translation in English How can anyone explain their loneliness When someone who was once yours now belongs to another? Is this the way life is , why does life have to be this way ? Is this how things work, why does it have to be this way?
If only she (he) would reach out for me, I would hold on forever, My heart will gladly beat next to her's (his) When we were so close; then why are we so distant now?
I have yet to recover from my broken heart, But still she (he) knocks at the door of my empty house, When I have no hope, why does she (he) instill hope in me,
Call it what you may, a bond of happiness,or an ensemble of sadness… They say a “Bond of love, is one forever, one that is ceaseless”… But if it is supposed to last forever then why does it have to change?
