We had our wedding at the pointing dog on the 14/10/2017

We had a sit down meal for 30 people and then an evening buffet for 70 the food was fantastic

The staff was amazing especially James( bar manager) he took all our advise and requirements for our special day and it was perfect from beginning to end.

Very nice, the place is very trendy looking, the staff very friendly and the food is great, only downside is my husband said the burger was too dry ( but he who orders a burger when there is so much better stuff on offer deserves a dry burger.) Love it!

Today we had a beautiful lunch, food was delicious and the service was excellent. Helena looked after us and was absolutely lovely. The whole experience was faultless. Thank you.

The food was delicious, staff really nice, will be booking again. Cocktails where 1/2 price also part of the menu was 1/2 price. We all had different meals and all of us enjoyed the food.

Lovely atmosphere when you walked threw the door, barman made a lovely apple and mango fruit drink 🍹 we where shown our table which was next to the window. The menu was explained and chose our food which was very nice, we choose the Sunday roast of chicken and there was more than plenty, the red wine gravy was beautiful. Really enjoyable Sunday lunch, definitely going to book again and recommend

I was lucky enough to win two Sunday carveries which we enjoyed this evening in a lovely venue with great staff & I have to say the Yorkshire Pudding was amazing! Thanks guys �

Had a great time staff are awesome always smiling lots of drinks to choose from first time for all my friends in our birthday party but they loved it security were so professional on letting us in great guys staff on reception are wonderful the all place as 100% proffessiolism many establishments don't these days was wanting a sunny night it was heavy rain but the atmosphere inside made up for all of that as soon as we hit the bar with the lovely bar staff awesome :-)

Good food and service. Sea Bream and Pan Fried Chicken with a side order of sweet potato fries hit the spot. Portion size was fair but glad we ordered the side, a must if you're hungry i think. Shared Camembert starter lovely but needed a little more sourdough bread. The chutney was very good! Sold out of the choice of main my wife was going to have so had to drop a star, but all in all a great night out for our wedding anniversary. Give this place a try, including a couple of cocktails, a glass of wine and soft drink our bill was just over £50 which seemed very good value for money. Door men were friendly too.

The food took a little while considering we were the only ones in but it was absolutely delicious once it arrived and all freshly cooked so the wait was worth it. The lovely décor was let down as all of the plaster was bare and looked a lazy Finnish to the rest of the neatly thought out furnishings. Staff were friendly and everything was nice and clean.

Stood waiting at reception to be seated, sat waiting for drinks and you guessed it sat over thirty minutes waiting for food.

Calamari was frozen n really chewy

Expensive beer in cheap glasses = flat beer. Very poor. Left and went to the next bar...much nicer!

walk in want to sit in the sun and eat there are 5 tables free get told not allowed to sit and eat outside in a certain area where there are tables free! never heard anything so ridiculous. will spend my money elsewhere. shocking

Seated at 8.10, starters have just arrived at 9.50. Half the mains have run out. Manager needs serious Customer service training, you do not stare down an unhappy customer. Once it had arrived the starters were lovely, as we expected and as we have experienced in the past. Let’s see how long the mains take to arrive.

10.20 mains are arriving

Had a joint baby shower here recently and had the afternoon tea priced at £15 ahead. The selection of sandwiches was very poor and out of the three choices one was smoked salmon which pregnant people can't eat! Some of the bread had started to dry out so not sure how long they had been sat there. The cake section was also very poor small dry scones with cream & jam, a few finger slices of chocolate brownie and a few squares of sponge cake. It wasn't even presented in a nice way. We had to pay a deposit up front and one person couldn't make it on the day due to illness and we still had to pay full price for that person. Over all we were very disappointed and would not recommend or return for the afternoon tea.

Gone downhill since it changed ownership. We use to go in here every Saturday and always enjoyed the vibe. Now unless you’re having a double you don’t qualify for a large gin glass! The bar staff are kids and very rude... and think they are doing you a favour by serving you and if you ask for the correct fruit to go with your drink... you get silence! After frequenting here since it originally opened it’s sad to say it’s not changed for the better. Bring back all of the old bar staff!
