... Porco Rosso Harrogate evening hosting Bertani, one of the oldest wine producers in all of Italy, and one of the true traditionalists of Soave, Valpolicella and Amarone production.
Founded in 1857 by Giovan Battista and Gaetano Bertani, their first vintage was revolutionary for wine produced around Verona, with Gaetano implementing techniques learnt from his time spent studying viticulture and wine making in Burgundy. Their historical importance to Italian wine is evident through their decorated history. They were responsible for the first official vintage of Amarone Classico, amongst many other landmark moments including their Soave being the white wine served at the celebratory lunch for the Coronation of King George VI.
