About Porridge Cafe
We were London's first Pop Up Porridge Cafe, the cafe was a one month pop up which is now permanently closed
Porridge Cafe Description
London’s First Ever Porridge Café Is To Open In East London This March.
Opening on Monday 2nd of March, the Porridge Cafe pop up will be located between Shoreditch and Old Street.
Breakfast lovers will be able to choose from a rotating menu of 11 different grains including Buckwheat and Quinoa amongst others, with toppings such as persimmon compote, chia seeds, papaya, agave nectar. Traditional toppings will also be offered.
The Porridge Café will cater to everyone; offering alternative coconut and almond milk bases as well as dairy milks.
Savoury porridges and exciting variety of grains will also be available at lunchtime, with recipe twists such as red velvet beetroot spelt, feta and capers topped with a poached egg.
Nik Williamson, Founder of the Porridge Café says "we were inspired to launch the café after seeing the Nordic revival of porridge, where it has been shown to be an exciting and versatile staple dish - both savoury and sweet".
The Porridge Cafe will also be serving coffee.
Open 7am – 6 pm for breakfast, lunch and early dinner 7 days a week. Sit in or take away.
The Porridge Café is located at 70 Paul Street, EC2A 4NA, a short walk from Old Street and Shoreditch High Street station.
The Porridge Café is the brainchild of the team behind the successful street food catering company Bow Food (bowfood.com).
This pop up was powered by We Are Pop Up, Europe’s leading marketplace for short term retail.

Continuing on the pop up theme - it's great to have a picture on the front page of the wearepopup.com website, nestled beside some really lovely other pop up using brands....
Unique to London, a lovely place to fix your needs for porridge and risotto, in proximity to Old Street. The first time I came here I got a delicious flat white to accompany a warm and utterly delicious bowl of porridge topped with mango pieces, coconut flakes and lime, it felt like eating a summer day, this led me to be back for a fulfilling bowl of quinoa and mushroom and the indulgent baked apple, raisins and cinnamon porridge. Behind the counter I found a really friendly and caring staff, able to make everyone feel welcome. Their menu change daily, luring you to go back every day of the week to try every dish, week after week. Sadly there are only two weeks left to try them out, better hurry.
Tried the salami, pecorino and porchino mushroom risotto and the banana, blueberry and peanut butter porridge.(thursday menu) Both SO delicious and really glad the café is reopening in a mysterious location in April, will definitely return ❤️
The yummiest food and excellent service at this amazing local place!!!
Really delicious spelt risotto and a warming rye, blueberries porridge :-)
Had the black rice topped with mango and coconut, absolutely loved it! Quite filling too. Well done, Porridge Cafe!!
Yummy porridge with some unusual flavour combinations. Maybe not for porridge purists but I loved it!
