Had a visit tonight Sunday 8th July table booked for 715 .our first evening visit daytime's don't disappoint and neither do evenings. One disabled guest in party .sat in conservatory area .Holly our server was fantastic and so helpful . Food wasn't to long to wait . Started with some of us having starters a guest in party had the Tomahawk steak so was explained took a little longer to cook . All food came out together and everyone had a super meal. food was fantastic looking and just as tasty as they look. Steaks large and cooked to perfection . followed by your great desserts . Thank you to all for a great night and we will definitely be back again in future .well done all .

Went last night for a meal with my husband. Couldn’t fault the food or the waitress we had (we were sat in the window kitchen side if that helps from 7.30 onwards) but another member of staff made our evening a little bit worse. She was walking around like a bear with a sore head. Making sure everyone knew she had to leave by 10pm. Came across like she really didn’t want to be there and kept stomping about the place. Then she was shouting at the kitchen staff with attitude about a fellow diner and their needs. Not what I really wanted to hear when trying to enjoy our meals. As I said, couldn’t fault our food. Was really lovely. Massive portion of steak and half rack of ribs. Good price for it too. I just can’t stand it when staff make you feel like they can’t be bothered to be there.

I’d called and booked a table in advance. My husband and I have 1 year old twins so we try and be organised! I requested a table in the conservatory with 2 high chairs. Upon arrival, I was told that the table I booked had been given to someone else. The staff didn’t seem overly sorry or bothered and went off to find an alternative. We were offered a table by the front door which we declined and then I saw a table available which was ok (although cramped and not next to a window). Staff told us that they had to go and get more high chairs as they had 4 but bookings meant they needed 8. Surely they should have been prepared for this?? Not 1 member of staff helped move tables and chairs so I could get the pushchair through. My kids were starting to get restless so I had 1 and my husband had the other - help to move about would have been nice! When we ordered our food, we were then told they’d be an hour wait. Luckily, starters and the kids food came out first and within a reasonable time although the kids meal was served without the peas we requested with the meal.

By this time I needed a wine, I went up to the bar and asked for a dry rose and the staff member replied ‘we only have 1 Rose and it’s not dry’ - once again, not overly helpful. Another member of staff corrected this and recommended a wine to me; which he let me try and it was ok. Maybe the staff need to learn a bit more about the wines they serve.

My kids were bored and fed up by the time our mains came out so thankfully grandparents were on hand to take them out of the restaurant.

My husbands food was fine but I had a steak baguette and it was awful. The ingredients were cooked with so much salt it ruined the meal completely.

A waitress came over after we had finished and asked if it was ok. I explained that my food was awful and I wasn’t paying for it. Note that no one came round during the meal to check if everything was ok. No apology was offered or was I asked what was wrong with my meal.

We got the bill and the waitress said the baguette had been taken off the bill. Still no apology.

The bill was wrong, the kids meal was charged as a meal deal but was just a meal on its own.

I went up the bar to pay the bill. I asked the member of staff to do something as a gesture of good will due to the terrible experience we had and his reply was ‘why’.

I said maybe take the drinks off (most places will do this if you haven’t had a good experience) and he said ‘well I’m not taking the wine off’.

Honestly, the member of staff who greeted us, tried to get another table and then took my money was unhelpful. He was rude, not welcoming at all, not willing to offer or find a good solution. It was just like we were an inconvenience and not the way you should be treated. He and the other staff are the face of Porterhouse and they didn’t do it justice at all. I don’t think I’ll be returning in a hurry

I'm thinking this will fall on deaf ears but poor service! We visited once before when it had just opened and were so impressed thought we must revisit! Happy to say we won't be going back! Our waitress just wasn't interested and when we finally got our desserts 40 mins after are main the waiter that served them swore as he dropped the spoon on the table! Glad we didn't have little children with us! Very unprofessional very much run by teenagers with no respect for good service and from what I can make out as long as you get paid you just don't care if you do a good job! I understand we are all need to learn somewhere however you should have been taught from a young age about manners and respect for others ?? For a Friday night it wasn't busy but still seemed to take 2 hrs for a dinner! I won't even begin on how long it took for a drinks order!
