We had a fantastic lunch at Porterhouse! Service and food was excellent, best oysters I’ve had for ages too! We’ll be back again for sure.

We ate here yesterday and everything was perfect; being the awkward buggers that we are we asked if we could chose dishes from both the Saltwater Fish co menu and the Porterhouse Menu and this was very quickly arranged for us to make it so. Everything was cooked perfectly, the quality of the ingredients obviously shine through and end results were sublime. The service was prompt, courteous and discreet (just the way we like it).

We eat out a lot and have the waistlines to prove it and will definitely be returning to eat at Porterhouse and the Saltwater Fish Co.... As an added bonus you can pick yourself up a new handbag on the way out

My husband and I visited here for the first time last night and we're not disappointed. Despite it being inside a store it had a really nice atmosphere. We both had the ribeye steak (medium) with free range egg and chips. It was delicious. My husband is a big meat eater and said this was one of the nicest steaks he has ever had. Our waitress was attentive but not intrusive and there was a good selection of drinks to choose from. The menu isn't fussy which I like. Just very well sourced meat. It is a little pricey but we'll worth it and will definately go again to try something else :)

Just returned home after a superb lunch which we couldn't fault in any way. We thought the menu was 'genius'. Highlights included the Basque boudin noir with duck egg, the calves liver and the lamb chops. The service was excellent. Can't wait to go again!

Great meat, good flavours, fab service. Grab a seat at the counter to watch the chefs at work, or take a table in the restaurant ... you won't be disappointed.

User

Great food and a lovely ambience in the Fenwick Food Hall. The waitress was really helpful with all the questions we had and the service was excellent.

First time visit for lunch yesterday. Amazing food, the fillet mignon was superbly cooked beautifully rare.

I loved the strongly flavoured 9 herb salad and to finish the ice cream, which I understand is made on site is among the best I have ever tasted. The staff are charming, attentive, courteous and interested. Altogether a first rate experience, what a coup for the store to have Porterhouse and Saltwater.

Enjoyed a fab meal here tonight (which included the vegetarian option for me ) with my mam. The staff and service were excellent and the food was fabulous! Thank you!

Best steak I have ever had & cooked perfectly!

I had the bone broth consommé to start - unreal! The bone marrow gravy is amazing!!

User

As expected the food and service was of a very high level. Both my Fillet and my wife's Ribeye were perfect. One minus was the handcut chips were mega hot and I've got a blister on my tongue.

As a fan of the neighbouring and jointly run saltwater fish company I was excited to give this a try. Arriving lunch time we had choice of seats and opted for the bar. I like the atmosphere of watching what is going on.

This was a break from suit shopping with the man who is going to marry my mother so it was already a special day out.

We were greeted by the chap behind the bar who was polite and chatty and very professional. We ordered the bread while we had a think and a bottle of the Chablis which is delicious.

We then went for the shared, build your own, mixed grill. Every element we went for was perfectly cooked from the fillets to the hens eggs! I will be back!

The man himself Mr Laybourne was even floating about!

Ate in this restaurant yesterday as like the food in all the Terry Laybourne restaurants but we were disappointed . I realise it is new so there may be issues which is why I'm putting this review on as hope they'll address them . We went at 5.30 and it was fairly full. Ordered from the main menu but sadly our drinks and cutlery didn't arrive before the starter . This was prawn cocktail which was gorgeous with lots of large prawns. My husband ordered sirloin steak , medium rare and I ordered fillet mignon , medium . I don't like too much blood . When they came we realised straight away they were cooked the wrong way around . I didn't want the larger steak or to have to wait if we sent it back so we decided to just let them know when they came to ask how the food was . Sadly this didn't happen. I gave my husband the more undercooked bits of my steak to eat . As I wanted to show them just before I finished I called a waiter over to see how it was cooked ,which he apologised for . When they came to collect the plates she asked how the food was and I explained they weren't cooked as ordered . She said she thought she'd written it down correctly . We asked for the bill and she said I've taken the service charge off. I hadn't intended paying it as was unhappy with the service . Had expected a 5 star experience so were very disappointed . Will wait a while before we go back and carry on going to Marco Pierre White's restaurant for a good steak .

Really disappointing! I visited for Sunday lunch with the family, who had eaten in the restaurant before, I hadn’t! The quality of the food was good, but it was served on a plate that would have struggled to accommodate a child’s meal. I asked the waitress but was just brushed off. Also little attention from staff and was never asked if we required more drinks. Not great. Sunday lunch up the escalator in Cafe 21 is far far better. After all when the bill comes in at almost £150 for Sunday lunch, everything needs to be right. Today it just wasn’t.

Normally love this place but what a disappointment today .. my Mam found a piece of plastic in her scallops .. I didn’t think the staff handled it very well at all .. the food wasn’t up to usual standard !!!
