Whenever I am Hastings I always visit Porters. Great food, fab atmosphere and some amazing music. There are times when it is absolutely rammed in there but that just adds to the vibe. The staff are always friendly and do a great job. I love it there and can't wait to go back when I'm next in town.

What a gem. Live close by so forget sometimes to appreciate what a great place this is. Good food.. lovely staff...and always great great music. Never change please!

The nice thing about Porters is that you always know you are going to get a good meal. The staff are always friendly and the service is very good.

We had the lunch menu, turkey and ham pie with veg and French fries and the Thai fish cakes, followed by the hot brownies. All highly recommended and washed down with a very nice wine. A lovely way to spend a winter lunchtime!!

Really good after work treat. Haven't been for a while, was nice to go early evening before gets too busy, sat out in the sun, and had garden to ourselves. Now have menus rather than just details on boards, and table service, although we still ordered at bar.

Ordered starters and a main, had the hot rocks which have been upgraded, and now give you option of fillet or another cut (can't remember which as I only order fillet) also chips much nicer, big chunky ones. Had a cheese sauce with steak, it came in a huge mug so plenty of it, most times you only get a tiny pot and it's never enough so that was a real win for me!

Our favourite place in Hastings, great Sunday lunch, just don’t eat for a week before you go!

I had the most beautiful salmon superfood salad here the other day! When you're trying to be healthy but want a fat glass of wine, that salad makes you feel slightly less guilty Wonderful, happy smiley staff and a feel good atmosphere... See you soon porters! We love you!

Had an amazing night for my friends birthdays last night! The food is always exceptional and even with big orders, porters staff still make the service seem less! So accommodating and friendly! Love this place. Thank you for having us!

Had a superb meal, pork belly for me, burger for him, absolutely delicious. Managed to swap to a bench seat which is better for me due to my mobility issue. My only problem was the steps to the toilet etc, but it's an old building and them's the breaks. Staff very helpful and friendly. Icing on the cake was the live music, The Domino Project - if you get the chance, go see them, fab!

Great food and friendly staff. Lunch menu is a great option for people like me with smaller appetites. I always enjoy my visit.

First visit for me yesterday lunchtime/early afternoon .

The staff were very friendly welcoming as soon as myself and my daughter walked in and the whole resteraunt itself had a lovely ambience and feel to it .

The service was excellent the food was amazing and being able to sit eat and drink out in the back garden/terrace in the lovely sunshine topped it off .

Excellent and would highly recommend and will be back .

Brisk busy crowded sunday afternoon with musical trio 2guitars and percussion Amaazing professional singer.chaotic almost packed out with a highly appreciative audience including me.. yet...amidst all the bustle the waiting staff soldiered on and meals and snacks were being promptly delivered.For the more formal diners there's a comfortable private restaurant to the rear.I loved it Well Done Porters Wine Bar. xx

Always great! Friendly staff, great varied menu. No table when we got there so had a drink at the bar until one was ready, fires burning, really cosy. A bottle of prosecco, two burgers, and a wonderful salted caramel tart washed down with two Tia Maria coffees. Can't beat the ambience, and the friendly staff, lovely place to spend a miserable wet Saturday afternoon in !

I came in last week with a friend and we both had an amazing meal which I couldn't recommend anymore.

Sadly I came back in this evening with my partner but sadly it was an entirely different experience.

The starter came with no satay sauce as they told me it had all gone once I had been served and then the hand cut chips came under cooked and hard.

I was disappointed as I was raving about the food but felt very let down. I paid the bill of £85 inc wine but personally I feel if you are charging this kind of money then it should be far better and consistent.

I did tell the waitress my dissatisfaction upon paying and was told you had a new cook/chef on tonight.

May I suggest you consider more training as it didn't meet your previous standards.

Always done lunch when the girls there for last few years never had reason to complain! Last night totally different story! Meal ok burger completely fell apart when trying to eat it crumbled into pieces, we complained twice about the toilets no hand towels floor covered in tissue left after dinner still toilets hadn't been cleaned!

Just had message from friends lunching in there today got total refund food came out terrible free bottle of wine!

Need to sort this out never had reason to complain but twice in as many days is not good!!!
