Here at Porters we are currently looking for amazing kitchen staff!

New Cocktail Menu Launch tomorrow! Come and try our new cocktails and treat yourself with our 2 for 1 offer! We'll also be starting serving pitchers of cocktails to help you cool down! Lots of vegan options too! 🎈🎉

We're looking to hire some experienced friendly bar staff! Like to work with us? Drop your CV into the bar and talk to one of our staff!

Come and welcome in 2018 at Porters, I'm gonna be playing a whole load of different stuff, from funk to reggae, jazz, hip-hop, rock and roll, folk, blues, disco, death metal, gabba, gregorian chants* - nothing's off the table. Try something a little different this year. I will most likely be dancing on a table at some point as I'm fairly sure I can't be kicked out if I'm djing...I may be wrong.
It's free entry on the night but there will be a couple of buckets dotted around ...and if you want to donate a couple of quid, all proceeds will be going to The Samaritans, cause this time of the year is notoriously difficult for a lot of people and everyone deserves an ear in tough times.
Hope to see you there, it's gonna be a good one! Let's see if we can set up for the worst Monday morning hangover in living memory.

What a faboulous Roast dinner one of the best I’ve had!

We were there in a very busy Friday evening & the staff could not have been more attentive, helpful & efficient! The chicken burrito was full of meat & the roast potatoes plentiful! Served swiftly & Jordan the waiter kept checking that all was ok for each of our 4 meals. The house red wine was merlot & was rich & v reasonably priced for Albert Rd! We shall definitely go back!

2-for-1 cocktails on Tuesdays with enthusiastic and friendly staff, and great burritos that are so filling! I like the frejoles refritos (refried beans) which I get with my vegan friends (they ask for theirs to be made without dairy) and also Sunday Roasts are to die for! Lovely rich gravy, freshly roasted vegetables, handmade to order. My new fave place to eat and drink! 🍸🍴🌯🌶💕

Cannot, cannot, Cannot! fault this place in any shape or form! Me and the hubby have been coming here for 4 years plus now! (Monday club cheaper beer) and to this very day, still order the same meals! # The Burritos ☺

Cannot say a bad thing about this place. The food & atmosphere has always been great. I have also found the manager, most welcoming.

Additional bonus is that Porters, is not part of a chain. Xx

Alway have a meal here before going to the Kings so over the years that is quite a few. Never had a bad meal. My Granddaughter who is now 16 said she loves the place so it shows all ages like it,I am 70 I rest my case.x

Porters has got a very warm and welcoming feeling. The atmosphere is lively and the décor feels like an old worldey type establishment.

The staff are very friendly and help as much as possible to give you a great experience and make you feel comfortable.

The food is absolutely delicious. I had a Cajun chicken burrito and was very impressed.

Highly recommend as a place to have a bit of food and drink if in the Portsmouth area.

I work in Portsmouth on a regular basisand wandered down to Southsea for a change. I visited at tea time (1800hrs) Tuesday evening. The place was full of pre-theatre diners and the staff seemed to cope very well. I had a thoroughly enjoyable meal (White Bait starter and Chicken Fajitas). I will definitely be returning!!

Didn't have any food, but did have a pint of Doom Bar. Good selection of beers and the menu looked good. Very friendly and efficient staff.

Did I mention the Doom Bar? What's not to like?

It took over a hour for the food to arrive ,the beef was very hard to cut with knife supplied , was very tasty though & staff were friendly very friendly.

Great Guinness but Nachos leave a little to be desired. All looked very appetising on the surface but at the bottom were very burnt, inedible tortilla chips, so although still hungry couldn't finish what we had paid for.

I have to say it was the worst meal I have ever had, we waited over an hour for our meals when they eventually arrived mine was burnt and my mash was awful, worst meal ever. The staff are unhelpful and arrogant I got a refund but still not happy. It's the first time I've been as it is a dog friendly pub which my daughter thought was great but not worth the wait. I asked if they had a trip advisor and was told no but apparently they are, review on its way.

Went in wednesday night 29th november. Bar staff dont understand basic english. Very ignorant and rude no manners. Please and thank you would be nice !!!!. Also i would love a job where i could spend all my time on my mobile !!. Very poor service.

Very expensive drinks.and was charged different prices for the same drink!! When I queried this the guy (manager) was very abrupt and said "well the other girl must of got it wrong" no apology, very bad customer service! On a positive - girl serving the food was lovely, friendly and apologetic! Although one of our party had a raw burger and sent it back and it took over half hour for another one! We had all finished our food when hers arrived!

Use porters all the time and after today's lunch I won't be returning ! After sending back a lunch I thought was quite frankly horrid I was put off my lunch so a replacement offered wasn't 4 me , I was offered a glass of wine but no refund! My bro rang & explained all, there answer 'yes a refund is our normal policy & I should of asked at the time' no mate u should offer to deduct the so called lunch off the bill not get the customer to ask when your food is sent back !
