The course provides students with broad and practical experience of the principles and latest developments in the plant sciences.
Research-active scientists, and staff with experience of UK and international horticulture and agriculture, have developed a programme that links commercial and academic worlds, with field trips and external research placements, for students who wish to specialise in either academic plant sciences or who seek rewarding employment in this area.
• The location of the Chatham Maritime and Hadlow College campuses is within reach of the Garden of England’s extensive and varied horticulture and agriculture, facilitating student teaching and research activities linked with local businesses and R& D providers such as East Malling Research (EMR).
• The international expertise of NRI staff, a world-leading and Gates Foundation-funded research organisation, provides research-led content on the MSc Applied Plant Science that is relevant to overseas’ markets.
Taught content includes fundamental processes, practical horticulture, and the delivery and application of practical science.
